I met up with a group of local offroad enthusiasts and went on a run out to the Knik Glacier on New Years Day. The instructions were to bring whatever would get you to the glacier. Most everyone had trucks or Jeeps; there was only one four-wheeler and me on my beloved 250SX. The trip out wasn't very difficult as most of the snow gets blown away in this area. Temperature was in the teens during the day. We got to the foot of the glacier in the afternoon; everyone had lunch and explored. Due to some vehicles having breakage we rode out in the dark and got back to the parking area a little before midnight. All in all a fun trip with most everyone very impressed with me and my SX.

This is the thread from the 4x4 board, check it out for :D LOTS MORE PICTURES!!! http://www.alaska4x4network.com/showthread.php?t=33857

I haven't got my film developed but here's a few pictures that other people took of me riding.

Man those are the coolest pics I've seen in a while. It took some rocks to show-up with a three wheeler, you are to be commended for the fine example set for the rest of us.

I had alot of layers on. I was too warm going in but just the right temp going out.

It hadn't snowed in a while and most of what is in that valley gets blown away by the winds. We have since gotten hit pretty well by the snow. I will be downhill skiing here this weekend; http://www.alyeskaresort.com/page.asp?intNodeID=10809

I should also mention that the trip to Knik Glacier is around thirty miles. (there and back)

I found a few more pics from this run...
Just to give you an idea of scale; the foot of Knik Glaicer is over three miles wide!

Left and right sides of the glacier
Left and right showing where we all parked (Not all the vehicles were there yet)
Myself on the gravel pile in front of the glacier
