Fresh rebuilt motor...piston,rings, max. oversize, boyesen reeds. No uni yet, no jetting. Want to brake in before I do too much.

I wouldn't mind keeping oil tank/injection but have heard others that have oil injected two strokes feel safer premixing. On the other hand most or all newer snowmobiles have oil tank/injection and they work quite well.

I guess what I am asking is, should I stick with the oil injection? How many of you have bypassed the injection and premixed fuel?

Do these older trimoto's have reliable oil pump/injection?

I have a 1980 trimoto 125 and my oil injector was unhooked before I bought it. I premix and have no problems. I'm not sure what it cost you to do all this work to yours, but I have some aftermarket bits on mine. If you 28 year old oil pump fiails, how much money are you out of and how long will you be down till you fix it again? To me, premixing is cheap insurance. And as far as premixing goes, if you use a high quality 2 stroke oil, you will be running a better ratio helping to ensure a longer lived, cooler running trike that has less maintenance problems and less fouled plugs. But the final choice is up to you. With premix, as long as you have fuel, youi'll have oil. If your pump fails while you're out riding????????

PREMIX, AND REJET......you go riding a new motor without rejeting, and you could fry your motor.
