well heres the story i picked up a 1996 yamaha blaster yesterday the guy i bought it from said it needed a pickup coil in the stator. I had a extra 1993 blaster at my house for parts and it ran so i know the eletrical is good. i replaced the old stator with the one of of my 1993 parts blaster. I allso replaced all eletrical boxes with the ones off of my 1993 parts blaster eccept the TORS box. After that i put a spark tester on the ignition wire and it lights faintly but if i touch it i feel nothing. finally i put all of the original boxes from the 1996 blaster back on it including the bad stator and it still lights up faintly. This blaster is equipped with a throttle overide system (TORS) that shuts off the engine if it gets stuck wide open. i unplugged this and still no spark but the tester lights up but only about a quarter as bright as it is on my friends 2006 blaster. Can Any one help me out?

Thanks, Derek

disconnect the TORS from the carb the throttle and the box under the nose cover and it will run just fine...trust me this is a common problem!

yeah should move this to q.c. , but do like dawg said and make sure you check all your connections. you made sure it didnt shear the keyway off on the flywheel? good luck with it.

When youve replaced everything except the wiring and it still doesnt work, then its bad wiring. Its always bad wiring, motorcycle wiring is junk due to vibration and moisture.
