ok im sure this has been posted befor but wtf? im selling procarbine a tank that is rust free for only maybe 24 hours. i can clean it out real nice and shinny but the next day i go out and look in the tank and surface rust appears again. my garage is climate controlled and stays at 72 degrees. i just dont understand why i can clean it out then the next day rust starts again. is it cause there isnt gas in it all the time?

im not 100% sure why, but spray some wd-40 in the tank to keep the rust off.

i thought maybe if i cleaned it then rinsed it out with 2 stroke gas , maybe the 2 stroke oil will keep it rust free.

when you clean them out like that (with acid im assuming) it leaves the metal very prone to rust. You will either have to keep it full of gas, or put a tank liner in it to seal it up.

clean it with desiel fuel in a parts cleaner, then use a hair dryer to dry it all up and put tank sealer in it

Use a product called Red-kote. Very good stuff better than kreem. kreem sometimes flakes up.
