I bought a couple of toys this past week, hopefully I won't be as crazy on them as I was back in the day.

First in an 87 LT230 Quadsport that is in great condition and will be plenty of fun in the fields....

Pics to follow....

and second is an 86 Honda 200x 3-wheeler. It is in awesome shape and will be really helpful on the days I need to blow off some serious steam. It's got a 250R rear axle and rides like a dream. Fast as hell and 6 gears to boot......It's great, bring it up on compression and one kick and it's purring like a kitten.

Here was the parts list from the guy that I bought it from.......

This three wheeler is in 100% riding condition. The rear axle is 4 inches extended, which makes for better stability. The handle bars are after market MSR aluminum ones. The plastics are in good shape with no cracks, and seat has no tears. The exhaust sounds really good, it is a after market DG. Everything works A+ on this bike. Not a show piece but in great condition mechanically and looks good visually. Motor is all original with full power and no smoke.

Parts listed below where replaced last winter:
Rear bearings
Brake Pads
Bearing carrier
Rear PRM Aluminum Grab bar
250R extended axle
Shock boots
Rear Brake Disk
Chain
UNI performance air filter
Exhaust
Both headlight and tail light
Complete new kick starter

Thats clean dude. Its cool to see a fellow triker in the Clarksville area, too bad Im not there anymore. Check out Linton Beach in Bumpus Mills, free Army Corps of EN riding area. I ripped it up on the 350x plenty of times there and was the only triker. Turkey bay is a blast too. I need another ride to leave at my inlaws when I visist so keep an eye open for me huh.

Looks like a really nice X, but the swingarm looks like a stock 200x swingarm to me.

I think he was overly excited when he said 'swingarm', I'm thinking he meant axle, I've made that mistake before. That's real nice though. Makes me wanna kill myself for ever selling my '86.

That's a really nice X - just my opinion here - but I would ditch those "Stryker" tires in favor of a little shorter - better treaded tire.

That is the only bad that stands out to me - other than those - that thing looks sweet!

throw some duros on it like I have, gear it up a little bit...and just enjoy the sheer greatness of it.

This was the case. Here are some pics of the rear axle, I am kinda unclear of what is what back there, but I would def say it has different hubs.

I am going to need a front master and a caliper for it, I finally got the stripped scres out of the reservoir and it was full of brake GEL!!!

I also found a local 85 200x that I scooped up so I could have a direct comparo between an 85 and an 86......no seriously I wanted an 85 first when I was a kid, and THEN the 86 model year was released!!!!!

I can say there is NO comparo between the two. I got the 85 so that I hoped my wife would kind of take an interest in them, and she bit on it. HA HA!!!!! Then she ran over her foot trying to 2 wheel it like me. It backfired though because she likes the 86 better.

I do need to widen the rear of the 85 though becuase it is really hard to get on it after riding the 86 for an hour or so.

When I got it the previous owner hacked the rear fenders off it and put turf tires on it, and took a DA sander to the tank scoops and front fender(after triming it too) He said they were cracked. I have some Maier Super Scoops on the way for it and saved what I could from a set of fenders I got on an 84 parts bike I picked up. to at least give it some of it's identity back.

I would like to replace the rear tires on both trikes, but I'll wait for a while. What are the best affordable options for the rear tires. I have a set of 22x11x8 Kenda Dominators(on my 96 TRX200D) that I'll prob put on the 85 and put the turf tires on the TRX, but I'll have to put a clutch in it by this summer, so I'll swap the tires after that.

Nice score man!
Your 85 200x can use hubs from a 400ex to widen it out. They bolt right on.They will give you about 3 inches of width vs. stock on the 85.
The axle on your 86 looks stock to me.

The 86 is really nice,I always wanted one,and passed on one 2 years ago,but it was a hammered pile of poo.And he wanted 750 for it.I said get bent dude.LOL

Hammered pile of poo........sound like another 86 I am trying to buy right now for my wife. My goal is to do a blacked out 86 200x and have my white one to let her ride.

Kind of like the Spidey and Venom approach.....

I would love to know whats going on with your rear axle. Although it may be a OEM Honda axle of some sort, I am almost positive it is not a stock 86 axle. I think that yours may actually be 3-4 inches wider than my 86.

I will take some measurements from it this weekend and see if we can figure it out.

Its my old bike. I am pretty sure I used a 83 250r axle. It was a direct fit. The hubs are the stock 200x ones. Thats a great bike. Me and my cousin bought it from a guy in Indiana (Well we meet in Indian, he was from Michigan). I ended up trading my cousin a couple guns for it. The only problem it has is a stripped oil drain plug. I know what you paid, but its worth it. I almost bought it back, but the guy wouldn't come off the price. I can answer any questions you have. The bearings are new in the rear also. The old axle was so rusted I had the cut it off.

That kick start alone cost me 110 bucks from bike bandit.
