Over the past few years I have seen alot of members post pics of their collections. Being the computer genius I am, I have never been able to figure out how to resize my pics to the proper size for the forums..... until some board members walked me through step by step and give me a few different options on other ways around it. I am going to post a few pics of some of the trikes that I have in my collection and some of the ones that are being restored. Most of the units are all original and untouched, some of the others were nice original machines, but needed a few parts and 2 have been restored. (350x and 200x) The 87 200x is still in resto process now as well as an 87 250sx that is not pictured. Many thanks to the guys who helped me figure out the simple process to post pics on here!!:beer Now maybe I will be able to particapate in some of the discussions on here that require pics and maybe I wont turn into a :postwhore :D

Sorry some of the pics did not turn out well, I guess my next quest is to get a better digital camera (something over $30) that might take some decent pics. I also am a big fan of the big bore MX bikes, here is one pic of a few of them. The 01 CR500 and 04 KX500 (last year for both) are brand new out of the crate and the 85 YZ 490 is the best example I could find.

OK Edog, one more try on a couple of the ones that were messed up, hopefully they are better this time! Since I am a die hard Honda fan (like you are) I am including one more pic of my 07 cr250 and cr125 (last year of the Honda 2 stroke MX'ers) and two of the 87 200x resto.

Thanks for the comments, I drag race cars for a living (or did from 1996 to 2003) in the IHRA and NHRA (pro stock class) I won the 2001 IHRA pro stock championship, got a call from the Houston based team of David Nickens (many time comp eliminator champion) and went to drive for his Mopar team in 2002. I won the NHRA rookie of the year in 02. Had a subpar year in 03, and did not resign with them for 04. I have done a couple of races with Mopar since then, but no full time deal. I am working on a full time deal for the upcoming 08 year, but I am running out of time finding a sponsor willing to spend the kind of money it takes to fund a pro stock car for a year!! So if you watch the Pomona winternationals on ESPN 2 in a couple of months and you don't see me there, I will SEE YOU at TRIKEFEST 08!!!:beer
P.S.-- Yes, Chris they might hire you, but remember, you might lose your job if your left foot is too slow!!:D :D :D Nothing like job security!!

That is most impressive. One question I have since you are doing the 87 200X resto, what color did you use on the frame and where do you get it?

prohemi500
01-10-2008, 12:58 AM
I have been on the prowl for these bikes/trikes since 04 and some of them have come from Ebay and some have come from local finds. Seems like in the last few months it has been harder to find nice original tire units, but if you look hard enough, there is always one someone who has a connection...... I just finished a couple of rooms in my house to put my units, and no, I do not ride any of the ones pictured. I have a 86 ATC 250r that I ride, but it is down for a 500 conversion that hopefully will be finished some time in the near future. I am definitely eat up with the 3 wheeler bug. My first trike was a 1984 ATC 125m, you can see half of it in the blue 110 pic. I love that machine and I guess that is why I collect these things and why I am on this forum tonight!

As far as OC goes, I love the way he is going with the display of his trikes, not to mention the TIGERS, there is however one particular unit he has that I fell in love with but, I will need another 10 years or so to convince him that I need it more than he does!! :naughty: :D :D :D

Saleen, I will find out tomorrow the name of the color I used on the frame and post it here, it is the closest match I could come up with, but my cheap camera does not do it justice. If you plan on doing a 200x resto, I think you would be happy with it.

Awwsome!!! I have known about Prohemi's collection for years, seen a few pics before, have chatted with him on the phone a few years back and knew of some of the acquisitions that I am seeing pics of in HIS hands the first time now. All of us collectors envy other machines in other collectors collections for sure, thats what makes them unique. When I have talked about "other collectors" in the past he was one of them. I am glad you finally jumped well into the boards and are sharing pics. I just wish the first pic wasnt the yellow Tri Z I passed up on the BIN price   .....man I feel like eddogy passing up the short track kit...what goes around comes around.....I was watching that blue 110 a while back but the seller ended auction early ....ya rotten Ba !!!  GREAT COLLECTION :beer

A couple of questions I can answer about the 87 big red is yes, I did purchase it off Ebay, I bet some of you on here probably saw it. I drove all the way from Ga. to Il. to pick it up, I paid what I thought was top dollar for it and you all know how decieving pics can be! When I arrived to pick it up, it was 33 degrees and blowing snow, the guy took me into the back of a heated metal building where he had a couple of bikes and quads and the big red was sitting pushed up in a corner. The first glimpse I caught of it, my heart hit my knee's because it was just a little on the dusty side and it had a couple of faint looking scratches on the forks. Just did not look like a 22, YES 22 original mile trike. I took my finger and rubbed the fork where the scratches appeared to be and they wiped away (must have been some kind of grease or liquid that had been on them for a while) Upon further inspection though, I had determined that this really is what the guy said it was!:Bounce By the time I had looked at it for 15 minutes, I was itching to get out of there with the 87 red before the guy changed his mind. (he did not seem to care if I took it or not) I finally got out of the door and headed home with a big smile on my face :) All I have done to this machine is wash it! Not one socket or wrench has been placed on it! I believe this is probably one of the newest examples that you could ever hope to find in a 85-87 red! This is the nicest original machine that I have ever seen! Period! It really looks like it just was rolled out of the crate!

The 85 Tri-Z has a silmilar story, but it has actually 5 rides on it, the owner told me that each ride was a 10 minute backyard deal. It was stored since 85 in a climate controlled garage on a lift! Again, no paint touch ups, no paint gone from the frame sides, not even a scratch! No marks on the wheels and it even has hairs on the sides of the tires. All I did was just wash it and put it up. These two machines are the nicest ones in my collection, and yes, I would invite anyone to come by check them out and do some bench racing, after all, that is why I have them!:beer

I think I would ride the hell outta them...but then again they would never look that sweet...I used to work on cars and I couldnt stand when people had trailer queens....I have a show truck and I driver her everyday....but I see both sides of the story...
Well thats the point homeboy! :)

Simply incredible.... It's hard to believe ANYONE could have so many mint machines. But, if I made any kind of real money I'd try to do the same stuff. Truthfully, all I do is work and mess around with ATC's. Be it buy them, fix them or ride them; it's all I really care about in life. Might be kind of a sad existence to some people but the woman thing never seems to pan out so I just stick with my family, my pets and my threewheelers....

It's actually kind of depressing to see htese posts. I KNOW I'll never even have ONE mint ATC, can't afford it and I ride the hell out of the ones I have owned.
I'm sure some guys feel the way that I do, you try and fix something but the part is discontinued. You try and paint something, but you need a bigger compressor for your sandblaster. You bid like crazy on a "mint" part and it comes to your house all screwed up. I'm outside running over tires with 2x12's trying to get the friggin tire off because I don't have the room or money for a tire machine. Uggh, sometimes it's impossible......

Your collection is awesome and I'm gonna go hang myself now, have a good night and thanks for sharing................LOL!!!!!!

DC If you need some tools, your welcome to mine! Edog- of couse I am not going to ride them because Barbara Walters and 60 minutes put the fear of God in me in 1986. What, do you think I am  ? I do have a couple that I ride, (250r and Tri-Z) so you cant get on me for that!:D :D 225 dude, its just a hobby for me, I love these things and I guess it just reminds me of when I was a kid and wanted a 250R or Tri-Z or Tecate and just never had the chance to own one. I read almost every copy of 3+4 wheel action, Dirt wheels, and Dirt Bike magazine they have published (and still have most of them). I used to go to bed at night thinking about what I saw at the dealership or read in a magazine. I still ride MX with some buds on a CRF 450 every weekend at diffrent tracks in Georgia and Alabama.:w00t: I guess I am just eat up with this stuff. Yes, I do try and get the best deals on the one's I have bought, and that is what has taken me so long to get my collection completed! Well almost complete!:naughty:

No, their decent original machines but they are not as nice as the others, it would be almost impossible to ride something and keep it from showing wear in some way or form, not to mention the toothbrush cleanup every time you rode it! I would have to have a full time detail/restoration guy if I actually rode some of the others because it would kill me to see them dirty and worn! Hello there!!! I've been looking around the site a few times, but I registered yesterday. My name is Michael and I'm from Athens Greece. I'm a big fun of trikes too and I'm really impressed with all the photos I just saw. Please excuse my English if I've made any mistakes  . We do have a LOT of Tecate's in Greece and that just happened by mistake. I don't want to waste anyones time or space, but if you are interested I can give you more info. I actually own a few trikes and quads too.
happy to join!

Welcome,,,, dude. :welcome: ,

Post some pics of you collection.

Thie one I ride. It has a wiseco piston, LA Sleeve, Boyesen Rad Valve, Answer Roost Boost, JR Filter and TMX Mikuni 38 carb. I also sand blasted the pipe, marked it, cut it in to three pieces, drilled the welded inner parts and put it back together. The US is too far away for me to buy a DG so I did it on my own. It sounds good, performs better and mostly it is "stock".

  nice!!! do you still have them? any interest in selling an '86 t3 gas tank?
Yes I do have them all and I got a few more parts after that. To tell you the truth I have too many parts, but once uppon a time there were about 1500 to 2000 Tecates imported BRAND NEW after the US banned them. Nowadays there are about 50 to 100 in working order and that's because there were no spares EVER imported, so what I buy ... I keep. Many people I know have asked me to sell, but I preffer to keep them just incase. ;)

I check very often on ebay and my eyes would pop out when I see a T3 86-87, and NOT because I find them to be rare but for the pice that they get. I once saw one about 6 months ago that went up to ~8.000$ !!!????? In Greece you get a poor for 300-500 Euro and a good for 2,000 -3,000 Euro. When they were banned from the States all the stock that was left unsold would have to be scraped or sold to places that there was no bann. So they were shipped to the UK and Belgium and then most of them ended to Greece for 450.000 Drachmas (at that time) = to 1,500$~1,700$. We also had a few Tri-Z (all 86 white&red) and no yellow or black. The ATC250R we also had, but it was in ... photos! :-)

mitsas

They were never banned.

More or less something like that happened because they were no longer "wanted" or allowed to be sold to the States. When I say that they were sent to Europe, I don't mean that they were sent to Kawasaki Europe ( in Holland). They were imported by "grey" importers that bought them ALL for very little $$$ because they could no longer be sold in US. NO spare parts could be found and since there was no internet at that time (1989 was the year they showed up I do have customs papers from 4 T3's) and Kawasaki had not imported them, it meant NO parts book or microfilms. If bike broke down or wrecked then the bike was gone. The only thing that we could provide as riders at that time was gas, air for tyres and a good wash. A flat tyre, or a set of piston rings and that was it. The worse case senario would be if you had the rear fenders stolen ( two screws under fender) and then you could never ride again.

So it's relisted? Man I gotta wonder.. (as is everyone else I bet) why on earth your trying to sell it. maybe this was asked already or explained in another thread that I missed. Did you have it built just for resale? or are you hard up for cash at the moment... or just trying to see what its worth. If you don't mind can you explain your reasoning behind all this to us (I'm trying not to sound like a peckerhead here either lol)

I'm also real curious (and yes this is probably out of line) but what did the resto cost you? I just hafto ask?
