84 200s mods?????

Hi there.
New to the forum. Just picked up a mint 84 200s and want to boost power.
I've got a line on a 200x carb kit (108 main) and was wondering if yanking out the spark arrestor would increase flow (cheap exhaust upgrade???) to match with jet kit????
Anyone have any exhaust mod tips?????

No mods are available that I know of. Do not remove the baffle, you will gain low end but will lose most of your mid-range power.

dennis kirk has cobra pipes for a 200s. i think dg might make one too. k&n air filters are always power boosters.

I had a DG pipe, Uni Filter, and a Wiesco piston (all still available) on my '84 200S and she ran right with modded 200X's - untill I realized there was no rear suspension and the fear of dying slowed me down.
