Did you knock the emulsion tube out and clean that out, did you poke through every little orifice in the carb with a tip cleaner, is your idle air screw adjusted properly, did you blow through every hole in the carb with compressed air and spray carb cleaner through them to see if it's coming out where it should? There is alot of variables here is what I'm saying. Some peoples ideas of cleaning a carb consist of removing the float bowl, spraying it out, and then putting it back together. A stretched cam chain can also affect your idle and performance. So can low compression.

ok yes we took the jets out and cleaned allof them.not sure about the idle air screw.ok another thing is that it want crank by kicking it but can roll it off and cranks good. blows alot of white smoke rings gone not giving enough compression to kick strat it?

Yes your starting problems are most likely to be caused by low compression. Those first gen X motors are a real beotch to start with low compression. That's prolly why she won't idle either. Your idle/air screw should be set at 2 1/4 turns out from fully seated.

get a carb rebuild kit, and if you want do the top end of the engine.
