Well Here Is My Atc 70 With A Light I Bought At Walmart. It Looks Great And Building The Bracket Was Very Easy. No Welding, Only Drilled 4 Holds And Done. Take A Look At The Pics. The Only Problem With The Light Is That It Has A 12v 55w H1 Or H2. I Am In The Porcess Of Ordering A H3-6v Bulb. This Will Do Fine.

A light from a late 70s' early 80s' 110 wil work fine if you don't like the light you have. The honda 90\110 light should have a built in switch on top of the light casing. Also, universal motorcycle headlight ears would work for you too. Actually had a fancier universal headlight ears that were used on the early US90s' so you could put a head light on them. Your light looked very nice though.

Looks good! How did you wire it up? Is the green wire the lighting wire?

So the 70 has a lighting coil in the electrical system?
I have a 74 atc 70,And I would like to do this to it.

YES ALL ATC70'S have a lighting coil,,, and usually a unregulated 6 volt systen will run a 12 volt light,,

Ok cool info.I never knew that.I just got this 70 and have not even cracked into the project yet.
So basically, just wire up a switch with a power and ground. What color are the lighting wires?Should I just ground the light to the cassis?or use the harness ground?
Any good sites to buy top end parts from?

Kasey will know for sure, but on the 78-85's the green wire coming out of the stator is the lighting wire I believe, and I think the loose black wire down there is ground? I wasn't sure if they had a lighting coil and was jst about to post a thread asking this.

What kinda light can it support, 12V, 25 watt?

Do Not Have A Part # But The Light Is Made Of Black Plastic (utility Light). It Runs For About $10.00.

Again, what wattage bulbs will the 70 support. I put a LED taillight on mine the other day, and appararently blew it up after a short ride. It was 12V.

Green Wire To Red And Black To Ground (any Part Of The Atc). I Did Not Add A Switch But Will Do In The Future.

I Am Useing A 12v 32 Watt Bulb. By Useing This Wattage It Will Eliminate Burn Out.

If you put a taillight without a headlight on your 70, it will blow.

Older Honda atcs had systems without a voltage regulator, they depend on the load of the headlight to keep the voltage down

Ok, that's what I'll do, that makes sense, thanks.
