Alright I'm seeing these cheap sandblasters that you hook up to your air compressor and you're ready. I was wondering though, do you just hook up the compressor and sand to it and go, or is it alot more trouble? How fast does it go through sand? And finally, do they work good? I want to paint my 250es frame and alot of other parts to it, but sanding that much with paper would suck, so sandblasting it would be much easier IMO.

If you are talking about the little hand held gravity feed sand blasters. They are pretty good for small jobs. You will need a air dryer on your air compressor. You need a compressor that will keep up with a sand blaster or you will be waiting for your compressor to catch up all the time. All sand blasters go through a alot of sand, the sand is pretty cheap at your local lumber yard(2-3 $ per bag). I'm guessing you will you 2-3 bags of sand on an entire trike.

Sand blasting is a nasty dirty job, but when I decide to a repaint my trike I will sand blast it myself, but I'm a tightwod when it comes to spending money on something that I can do myself.

Good Luck,

I've got one that I use with a little 5hp/30gal compressor and it has to run full speed to keep up if I am doing a big job. Also if the sand gets even a little damp in the hopper then you can forget about it. The compressor feed line just hooks to the bottom of the spray nozzle. I got mine from sears for about $60.

You can also use other media besides sand. I find glass bead works much better, and isn't as prone to moisture problems. If you want to do some rough polishing, you can use rice hull media in your blast machine. Lots of options.

ive got one thats what I did my 200 x with you definately want to get a compressor with at least 9.6 SCFM @ 90 PSI my compressor only has 5.1 @90 so it took me awhile it also took 150 lbs of blast media and yes definately get a dryer my blaster is a campbell housfeld i bought it a wally world for about 25.00 you also need a mask when blasting some or most media is probably cancerous.
