My in laws neighbor has an 87 250sx. Its very rough, but it runs and goes. I got him down to about $250-sorry no pics. Is it worth it due to the 87 factor? It has no brakes, plastics are all junk but orig. Pretty much everything looks like crap except the engine.

87's of any trike are pretty rare. But from the sound of it, sounds like she ain't worth much. Pics would be good.

I dont believe one in that condition is worth anything special on the "87" factor alone...just what is worth in parts. Junk is junk unless they are limited and hard to find machines such as Tigers, Cagivas, Franks, Nicholsons, etc

hey watch what you call junk... my 85 250es big red is one of the ugliest 3-wheelers you will ever see but it runs good, pulls good, shifts good. it needs plastics and brakes to look nice. myself i dont mind riding without brakes. lol

The 87SX isn't very rare, I have owned 2 and seen lots of them. It didn't mean crap to me being an 87 as it basically an 86. I sold mine and kept the 85SX with the built motor and 86 running gear.

It's not like the 87 200X where they added a key switch and the rare whites scoops versus it's 86 brother.

Yeah, I used rare too loosely there, more like not as common, or not as many produced. DC is right on this though, the 87 is hardly different than the 86. It sounds like the year issue on this one doesn't add any value anyway. Beat is beat!

I went ahead and got it. I will keep it at my inlaws to ride when I go there, they have ample riding space. Its has zero brakes and Im not one to ride like that but in the flat field its ok. I for one wouldnt restore this one as it needs way too much in my opinion. But I will ride it for now. Its a great parts bike for sure in the future. If anyone in the TN area needs some 250SX parts and wants the bike more than I do send me a PM and I will sell it to a 3 wheeler guy. I may throw it in the classifieds and get a nicer one to leave there. Now that I bought it, it struck me that I should have a machine out there as we go there so much and they have a ton of places to ride and lots of folks with machines to ride with. The dudes I got it from are clueless, just riding it because it goes.

Beat is beat!yeah, its got lots of good parts and it runs, it actually goes pretty good with all the power and handling of my nicer old 250SX, I was surprised as it looked so bad. Anyway the 87 350x is a rare one, and the 87 250r I believe as well, in any shape...

87 350X!?!? Now that's something I'd like to see! I'm pretty confident when I say "I've never seen an 87 350X and don't think they exist!"
