hey guys. ive been meaning to put up some pics of my 350x. i bought it thinking i would use it but when i got it home i cleaned the dust off it and i looked it over real good. after seriously staring at it for a couple hours i decided that wouldnt be right. the bike is just too nice and it will make a good garage queen.
now for the questions, what should i do to prevent rust and stuff from getting in the gas tank? im gonna keep the bike in my air conditioned garage. is there anything i need to do? i do not plan on riding this. ill most likely keep it for 30 years *before* i ride it again! lol

...get it good and hot then change the oil and filter...dirty oil tends to stick to the bottom of the crank case...drain the gas and spray the tank with some good oil ,,, maybe up on a lift taking pressure off the tires and suspension. and a nice white cotton sheet over it :) dont forget to pat it on the headlight shell and say I'll see ya soon..:TrikesOwn

Sir, we'll need to see some pics first before making an accurate judgement as to how to properly store this relic. :pics:

ok thank u. what kind of oil would you reccomend in the tank? 2 or 4 stroke oil? and just spray it in or fill the whole tank up? so i should build a stand for it then, huh?

its not the holy grail or a crate bike, but it has seen very little use. original tires have about 70% life still. its the nicest unrestored three wheeler i have ever seen in person and it would rival any mint 350x around

any good quality spray lube will do just spray it all over the inside..

drain the gas in the tank, and carb fuel bowl, spray wd-40 in the tank, change the oil, and filter, grease and lube up everything real good, put it up on blocks (not the tires), put a towel over the bike, and if it makes you feel good, pour a little oil down the cylinder. start it every once in a while too.

yea... the biggest thing I can think of is turning over the engine every few months. You can fog the cylinder, but at least turn it over so it doesn't sit in the same place and freeze. lift it off those tires!!

I believe the honda manual said that if it is going into storage put 1 tablespoon of oil into the cylinder via spark plug hole

Buy a MotroCross Stand ... kick it over with out starting the engine every few months ...

if it was me i would start it, and take it up the street a few times, every once in a while. it just makes me feel better, like everything is being used and prevented from getting frozen up. i dont know if its really necessary though?

I'd ride it once in a while too, that way everything gets worked, including the brakes. You don't want the calipers seizing up on you from sitting for a long period of time .Not sure if that would happen in an air conditioned garage though.

well if i ride it every once in awhile then that means more wear on the original tires and id have to just leave gas in the tank or just flush the oil out of it every time i guess

if it were me, i would ride it. just ride it sparingly once every 6 or so months up and down the street 3 times. if the tires and the gas tank bother you, you could get another gas tank, and other tires and rims to use for riding, and store the original gas tank and tires. nothing lasts for ever, so enjoy it.

I have my Big Red I dont ride since I brought it inside. Im not worried about moisture screwing up anything since its in my freaking livingroom! I dont see how itd be any different with your X being in a climate controlled building.
I just turn the motor over every few weeks without starting it up.
