Hello,
I bought a batter for my 3 wheeler. It does not seem to have enough power to turn over the starter..... So it needs to be charged. But I dont have a charger.. Now if I drive my trike low enough will it charge the battery enough for me to have electric start? If so how long will it take?http://www.3wheeler.org/pics/Yamaha/Y225DR_Ad.jpg

you could take it to the person you bought it off and ask them to charge it, it should'a been charged by them anyway, yeah, if you ride the bike providing the charging circuit is ok and the lights are off it should charge fully in anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour

How can I check if the charging circuit works?

i am sure if you get it going, unhook the battery leads + then using a multi-tester set at the d.c. setting and take the reading it should be above 12 volts. that would mean it is putting charge back into battery.
is this a new battery short4stuff ?

Yes it is a new battery, they charged it for about an hour and when I got it home it turns over my starter for about 6 seconds then goes dead... also it just turns over my starter and nothing else.. the engine does NOT turn over..??? Someone told me that it could be because the battery does not make the starter turn over fast enough so it does not engage?? please help.

short4stuff, have you tried using jumper cables from your truck/car ?
if that works i'd lean towards a bad battery.
if it does the same thing,,, i'd suspect the starter.
did starter work b-4 or ever???

u might need a bigger batteryim not sure where it says the battery size but we often put bigger than stock in our trikes anyway. I've never heard of a bad/new battery.
