my old cooler lines leaked some and i got sick of it so i had NAPA try to make me some blue ones that matched my frame color real good.

the problem is they say they can only get 3/8 hose and what i didnt know till i cut the stock hose off is that the barbed end is close to 7/16.

it looks real neat but what i found out is when i was trying to get the other end pushed onto the hose the inner layer of hose was splitting so i had to come up with another plan.

you can see the stock 450r cooler line in the first pic cut apart, i ended up useing this hose for my new lines

here is the new lines.

1st pic just shows one painted and the other one how it was when i bent it up. i used 3/8 hard line (fuel line) and just welded on the 350x ends witch is the same as the 450r cooler.

the 450r cooler is the perfect size for a built up 350x motor and in a quad is real easy to mount ( i just used strap clamps)

i used these strap clamps for over a year with my old cooler and they never moved or broke. the nice thing is if you want to move the cooler or swap to a different motor its no big deal since the mounts arnt welded on.

im going to keep the chrome 450r ends and try to find some 7/16 blue hose since i think that would of looked way cool.

anyway....some time ago someone was asking about custom oil lines so i thought id throw up some pics

So in other words your saying don't take your 350x oil lines to NAPA? Looks like a cool setup tho..

i just took the motor end of the 350x line... thats all i needed from those line, and i made the rest

it was like $5 for them to crimp them

so swigin, you ran the lines coming out of the 350x...cut them, and then mated them to the 450r lines?

I'm thinking of running two of the 450r oil coolers, one behind each scoop...run a line over the down tube. Seems like I could get hoses made pretty damned easily.

Or do you think it would be overkill? I do have a brand new oil pump...so I would think there's no danger of oil not making it anywhere...

Plus I'd imagine I'd see very very very low operating temps.

let me know mayne.

any chance of this being moved to the "new product research and development section" or at least back to the trike part? Seems like a lot more people could get some use out of this.

I bought two oil coolers with lines for under 30 bucks...try buying two NOS oil coolers for that.

i wouldnt use 2 450 coolers, one works fine for me.

dual stock coolers would be simple to do though.

dual stock coolers is for chumps! lol

is there a mechanical reason not to use two...cause I already bought em

it will take longer for the oil to return to the motor...those 450 coolers are large.

if you look at a stock 350x cooler its all tank so it holds a ton of oil but it dont have a lot of cooling fins.

i think you'll be suprized at what 1 450 cooler can do.....but if you want to throw 2 on and see what it does be my guest.

i dont think it will starve for oil on start up.........think being the key word
