My buddy has 1985 250 ES BigRed and it will not idle. We cleaned the carb once and it was good for a day. This is a different carb and I'm wondering if their is a trick to it. He ordered a rebuild kit, but wanted to ask if theirs something we are not doing right. Also if someone has a link to how to rebuild this type of carb that would help too.

If you cleaned it and it worked for a day, I bet it got some more trash in the idle circuit. clean it again, change/clean the fuel filter, dump the gas tank out and put in some fresh fuel.
