Wow, check out the right side case, looks real different from a US 200X? Looks like the whole motor's gold instead of silver? Very cool trike, nice score, man!:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

Is that a 250r with a 250sx engine?
definately kitbashed together.
And definately a 250r headlamp.
Is the gas tank plastic?

TwoHundredEx

It's the one with the 200SX engine. Thats why it has the E-start, and different shaped exhaust. Looks to be inside an '83 200X with... a plastic tank? and 250R headlight.

Yes it has a clutch but no throttle you have to pull the cable as there is no twist attached lol

What you guys think?

make it driveable and see what you think from there. My guess is an XL engine also, what are the numbers on the engine? Does the neck say anything?

Don't know if you missed my post earlier but I'm pretty sure it's a 200SX engine, not only because it looks like it, but because the E-bay ad was labeled "ATC 200SX". They had E-start with no kick. Does it have a clutch? It's hard to tell but I don't see a clutch cable going down to the bottom end. If it doesn't then I'd bet it's an 200SX. I could be wrong though.

Well im not sure if its a clutch dude,
I went to pick it up and there is no lever on the right hand side which would be where the front brake would be be but there is one on the left hand side which i presumed it would be the clutch i cant see why it would be there if it wasnt a clutch.
Its round my mates garage at the mo and he is in bed so i cant go check but i have a few closer pics of it but i cant host pics.
If you PM me your email adress and email them to you.

That is not a 200sx engine, the 200sx does not have a wacky angular clutch cover like that and a 200sx would have a pull starter on the left

whipit
12-12-2007, 12:50 PM
The NX250 was a liquid cooled 4 valve also so it is not an NX motor

one thing we may be forgetting here is the simple fact that european markets probably got all sorts of wacky machines over the decades that were never available here in the US, just as they do today.

I bet it is a 200cc 1980's dualsport of some kind

OK, thanks to Bikepics.com, a web site with pictures of every bike ever made, we have narrowed it down. It is definately an XL200 motor, this being the only electric start, single exhaust port small thumper with the angular looking clutch cover. what remains undetermined is the model year. I would guess early 90's based on the gold paint job. older on were apparently black. look here

wrong.

there is a ton of confusion on this site, but take it from me, the trx20osx is electric and pull. There is no other Honda called "200sx" but the electric and pull TRX

Funny..... it looks like a bunch of parts cobbed from different machines, yet everything fits up nicely, very OEM....... the plastics, the tank, motor. Except for that funky rack ...... could this have been a pre-production model from Honda? kind of a test machine that was never actually put into production? I'd do a bit more detective work on this one before tearing it down for parts.......

i can tell ya thats definitely a 200x axle. the swinger looks to be off a 83 200x ? . as for the engine look for the engine i.d. numbers and pm them to me or post them up. do the same with the frame but it also looks like a 200x frame. but not sure.

if it wernt so rusty man it would look dam nice. except for that huge friggin rack on there. just think if ladies had as big of a rack as that thing the world would be a very good place. (take no offense ladies its just a saying) anyways thats a pretty sweet trike. i say take it down clean her up paint it and put it back together. sure it would take some work but it would be worth it i think. good pick up man i like it.

it looks like it was a 83 200x with 83-84 250r front forks, and a diferent motor, that is probably it, other than the scrap metal on the front... I would personaly not really worry over this bike because by the look of it, has been sitting out in a field for ten years. pull the motor out and put it in a 85 200x frame... and if nobody notice, the rims are the same color as the frame, which means that some one either took all apart and used spray paint, or took time and got it powder coated, I am personally going with the spray paint.

And.... The 250SX is shaft drive with a kicker back up so that isn't it either.

.......... tank looks to be plastic? Doesn't look too familiar....... same with the rear fenders, any serial numbers on the motor or frame neck. Unfortunately, it does look like it did time in the U-Boat fleet. ;)

Howdy
12-13-2007, 06:37 PM
Could be a later TRX200D ( ? on the D ) engine. We had one that only had electric start, and it sure looks like that motor.

The gold paint on the motor don't mean anything. I say that because you can get gold paint millions of places. Heck look at the frame.

The engine serial numbers would help to identify the motor for sure.
