I did a rewrite of the classic Night Before Christmas poem with an ATC twist for my local ATV Club Christmas party just to put all the Quad guys in there place.
Thought I'd share it here where other like minded individuals could enjoy it.
The Night Before “X”-mas
By xman350x
Twas the Night before “X”-mas
And all through the park
The trails were all quiet
And the woods were all dark
The air had a chill and the trees were all bare
And everyone knew that he soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
And dreamed about Honda’s with plastic bright red.
As I sat waiting, with hands in my lap
The misses laid down for a quick little nap.
When out on the trail I heard such a clatter
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter
Over to the window I flew like a flash
But on the nightstand my toe I painfully mashed
I cursed and I yelled in the gentle moon glow
As I tried to get feeling back into my toe
When what to my wandering eyes should appear
A 350X with a man at the steer.
He was dressed all in red and shot over the land
I knew in an instant he must be the man
More rapid than quads his three-wheeler came
Nothing could touch him and he called them by name.
No Predators! No Blasters!
No Bashees! No Grizzly’s
No Suzuki’s! No Kawi’s
No DS’s or 660’s!
To the front of the group
My 350 will haul
I’ll pull away, pull away,
Pull away from them all!
His headlights were bright and danced all around
As that 350X made a powerful sound.
And then up to the house the rider did stop
And he jumped off his ride with a jovial hop.
I ran from the window across the cold wooden floor
And made it downstairs as he came in the door.
He was decked out in gear from his head to his toes.
Because safety’s important as everyone knows.
“You like that 350,” he said with a smile
“I’ve ridden it hard for miles upon miles.”
The rims how they twinkled, it’s plastic was cherry
It’s stance was aggressive, and just a bit scary
The whole trike was clean, and emitted a glow
The gas tank was white, like a fresh fallen snow
The motor gave off a soft warming heat
And I knew in an instant it couldn’t be beat
It had a UNI air filter, and performance exhaust
I started to wonder how much it all cost.
He then looked at me with a glint in his eye
As he chuckled aloud “that thing really fly’s”
“With plenty of power, and torque up it’s sleeves
It’ll do wheelies with the greatest of ease.”
He looked off behind us and tilted his head.
I’ve got a couple more minutes he patiently said.
I started anticipating what would be next
He then showed me the rest of his 350X
Suddenly there arose a thundering noise
But he just stood there without losing poise
I took a step back, the sound started to grow
But he just chuckled and said “they are slow”
I said “what’s that sound that’s coming so fast”
He said with a grin, it was quads that he’d passed
He bid me farewell and turned to his trike
That thing certainly was one hell of a bike.
He sprung to his ride and stomped on the kicker
Pulled in the clutch and stepped on the shifter
I heard him exclaim as he tore out of site
Merry “X”-mas to all and to all a good ride!
Thought I'd share it here where other like minded individuals could enjoy it.
