I need a set of wheels for my knobbies and I am in the small budget arena.

I found a good priced set of wheels and tires but I don't know if this will fit:

They are 8inch Aluminum wheels with 31/16" bolt pattern.

They came off of a 1986 Honda Fourtrax TRX 200 SX

Thank you!!!

The guy I bought the bike from gave me a set of knobbies for the bike. The tires were shot so I bought itp holeshots, and paid $25 to get the old ones switched with the holeshots. went to switch out the paddles for the knobbies and they don't fit!!! the opening in the wheel is too large. the entire hub fits through the hole!!!!

When I called the guy he says they must have gone to his 250r. anyone have ones that fit my bike and need these?

what kinda bike ya got ? there are many diff. size wheels that will fit on a machine. such as 8 inch, 9 inch, 10 inch and so on. what are the numbers on your knobbies ? then we can go from there.

By the way rckstrgrl1, :welcome:

Thanks bigreddaddy!! I feel already at home ;)

I would love to 1) Either find someone to switch rims with me or some inexpensive, nice looking wheels that fit 2) Find somewhere in SoCal that will switch the tires out for me cheap!

200x and 250R share the same bolt pattern the wheels from a 200sx should have fit fine... as for the wheel not fitting, im not sure I catch exactly what your implying, you took your paddles off but then going to have the holshots mounted the wheel was to big for the hub?? was it the tire was to big for the wheel?

ok 21: yes the 86 200sx quad rims will work with your tires. but im lost with the bolt pattern. the sx pattern (stock anyways is 4 on 110mm) the 83-85 200x pattern (stock) is 4 on 130mm . so what i did was bought a pair of 400ex hubs (4 on 110 pattern) then stuck the stock 200x wheels on them. i know what your thinking "if they are different how do they fit ? " to tell ya the truth i have no clue but they do ha ha. so anyways get them hubs and those 200sx wheels and you should be all good. plus the ex hubs are a inch or so wider than stock hubs. great upgrade in my opinion.

nice to see another woman join us. i once had a girl that broke up with me because she didnt like trikes. ha ha ha ooo well. anyways welcome to 3ww.

lol thats what i said till i looked in the dk book. it says 83-85 200x lug pattern is a 4 on 130. but idk because i use my stock 200x rims on 400ex wheels. so dk could be full of crap as usual. ill measure it out tomorrow after work. but now that i stop and think about it..... your rite syko or at least i think you are.

Ok....I have a set of douglas wheels (I think they are douglas) that had old, cracked knobbies on them.

I took the old off and put on the new hole shots, took off the paddle tire set and when i was putting on the douglas wheels my hub was smaller than the opening in the center of the rim, they went right through. hence not fitting.

sounds like that wheel is a kawasaki tecate/polaris pattern of 4x156 yea thats a huge pattern, sorry and 84honda200s the dominate pattern for almost every sport honda is 4x110 200x200sx250ex250r300ex350x400ex450r all 4x110 now every one of those interchange except the 85 up and 85-86 350x they have 25 splinned hubs while everything else is 24, rckstrglr, if your ever needing an extra inch of width on both sides put some 250ex 300ex 400ex or 450r HUBS ON SInce they are wider. also there could be a slim chance that someone may have put yamaha hubs on your X since blaster/banshee/tri-z fit and some of those are only 4x100 if theres a golf cart nearbuy you can find out real quick, if a golf cart wheel fits then its a yamaha pattern since every golf cart on the plannet it 4x100. I hope your writing all this down girl!

450r hubs fit the 250r axle splines?

84honda200s
12-04-2007, 01:15 AM
hmmm are they the rims that came from the R ? if so the 82 R i believe had a huge hub pattern. that would be why it slid over your hub. that is if big if they are 82 R wheels.

my opinion is get them sx rims put the hole shots on them. you should be good to go then. if not all you will need is a pair ex or 450R rear hubs. but i think syko is rite about the 200x hubs. im pretty sure they will work with the sx wheels.

Ok so I HAVE an 85 200x.....so these won't fit because I have a 25 splinned hub, right??!

"4x110 now every one of those interchange except the 85 up"

no you have a 24 splined hub

BigReds Forever

Ok, heres what you need to do so we can help you. You have a 85 200x. The hubs SHOULD be 24 spline, 4-110. If you could measure the bolt pattern of your hub, and of the rim, we could help you out better. Measure from the Center of one stud on the hub, to the center of the stud diagonal to it (measure in mm). Then do the same with the bolt holes on the wheels you have. The 200sx rims SHOULD measure 110, but something strange is up here. Once we have this info, we can tell you if theres something you can do to make those fit on your trike.

Happy wrenching! -BRF

you should be able to put the 200sx wheels on your stock hubs. if not .... get your self a pair of ex or 450R hubs.

Um wow...lol...after reading this thread, now I'M thoroughly confused.

Let me ask this question just to clarify the situation...What is the final solution we are attempting to achieve here? Get the tires on wheels that will correctly fit on the hubs of an '85 200X or find a set of hubs to put on the X that will accept some larger bolt pattern...correct?

What size rim do you need for the tires you want to run, rckstrgrl? 8"?

I am trying to find rims/wheels to fit on my 200x hubs.

The rims/wheels I have doesnt fit, they are too large.

I NEED correct rims for my bike.

I will measure the wheels/rims and get back to everyone.

Ok then. If it turns out you are looking for 8" wheels, PM me. I've got a set of very good condition stock aluminum 200x wheels I'd make you a very fair deal on.

couldnt you just put some wet paint on the ends of the bolt. and redrill differnt holes if theres enough room. ive done it on a 200 m and it worked fine just a little ugly.

Yes you could do that if it was just the bolt size that is incorrect on the wheels I have.

My entire hub is too small of a circumference. that is why I need new 8" wheels

I know its a 4/110mm but I was wondering about the offset of "3+5"

Is that ok?

yea that off set is good, that means from the hub to inside its 3 inches, from hub to outside is 5 inches, that may also give you some extra width depending on what your other rims are
