That's right a no helmet smackdown. To see it just go to myspace.com search in videos for three wheeler flip on steep hill. A guy in a white cutoff shirt (me) gets his ass handed to him by his 85" atc 110.

I wont say anything about the lack of a helmet, Because honestly I dont ever wear mine either when riding my 125.... But I really dont understand why you would want to share video footage of such horrible riding skills... Seriously you should be hiding that video and pretending like you dont completely suck...

Its only "hilarious" because you need to learn how to ride! Shift your weight, stay on the gas, and always use your uphill brake. Ive been known to not wear a helmet in my yard, but whenever i go anywhere, I always have a bucket on.

He has full gear on, for swimming in the creek near by that is.

Really, you had no control what so ever, you could have had a lot worse happen to you and please delete that from the net.

Helmet, gloves, jersey, pants, sturdy shoes at the very least dude, tennis sneaks just don't cut it and No, we have not all been there, I have never rode like that, maybe around the yard for chore work but never when trail riding.

I actually am dressed over geared sometimes towards most others, I wear my full motox gear and why the heck not, I have it, might as well wear it !

Did your parents find that hilarious too or didn't you show it to them? If they ride, possibly they ride that way too and are partcially to blame ?

When in Doubt gas it out. Thats my motto. When I had my ATC 125 M sometimes I would not wear a helmet when dorking around slow and easy. Thats when I always crashed. I got a half shell for the put put runs and its got some scratches from getting side hilled behind a dude who just stopped at the top. Trikes dont like to sit on the side of a hill, they like to roll ontop of you. It rolled onto me 3 times :w00t: Was sore for a week. That was the 200x this summer. Ive been riding 30 years and I bail sometimes. But to be honest, you should of made in up that speed bump. You just choked.:naughty: As for that poor fool jumping that X:crazy: Someone needs to tell that dude you dont sit down when getting ready to catch air. Thats some dumb shiot there.:D Plus that home made jump was made for a nice face plant on a trike :w00t: Hes lucky the throttle didnt stick or the back of his head would of had some serious rubber melted to his skull.

Oh yea, willrideanythin, you said.

you know, for talk of safety equipment, i've lost one friend to a trike and one friend to a quad. one took down a sign off the side of the road, one was only 13 and a fullsize quad flipped over on top of him going up a hill.

neither accident was very bad, neither person was wearing safety equipment, and neither person would have been saved by wearing safety equipment.

now i wear a seatbelt in a car, and i wear leather and a helmet when on a bike...but i'm stupid enough to not wear one on a atv/atc. i've actually never even seen anyone in person who wore a helmet. always ride on my own land, so insurance isn't an issue.

the day i do finally wreck, i suppose someone will get a good laugh. especially the grim reaper.

No, i dont think they have a front brake. Would an option to be to get a front wheel from a 125 and swap it on so you have the brake?

is that a helmet i see on your head ? :D i didnt think "cool" people used them.

i use mine any and every time i am riding off my driveway. i say that because on my driveway i cant get out of 2nd gear. hell i can barely hit 2nd gear. and not to mention its a straight shot. no turns at all what so ever. but anytime i go someplace i wear my helmet.

i meant i've never seen someone in person riding an atv/atc who wore a helmet. it just isn't done around here. and i don't ride anywhere but on "my" own land. 86 acres on the border of 4000 acres of state land. those are my stomping grounds as far as offroad goes.

i'd say i'm actually quite well traveled as far as louisiana boys go, hell we made a run up to PA this past labor day just to go to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub to try the burgers.

which we might have to do again soon.

Rustytinhorn

it just isn't done around here.

I guess if I ever go riding in Louisiana I'd stick out like a sore thumb.:w00t: Dang Kids... Ya, I'd say 4000 + 86 is enough to keep a person busy for a while. lol

The Goat
12-02-2007, 04:59 AM
i estimate 4000...i'd say it's quite a bit more than that. say 4 miles by 25ish before you reach another asphalt road, so that's more like...eh...well i know it's more than fifty thousand acres. lol. and you wouldn't so much stick out...as people would prolly just give you a second glance...or a couple more for being on a sport trike, they're pretty scarce around here.

i'm actually thinking of buying a fully enclosed helmet...just for when it's cold. you know, i've been to saskatchewan when it was -26, but nothing feels like 20 in louisiana...it's just SOOO COLD

I know where Goat lives. Hell, I'm only about 15 minutes from him and there are ALOT of atv's and a few atc's around here. I have never in 31 years seen anyone with a helmet. And I mean at least 70% of all homes have some sort of ATV. I understand why it should be worn. I have a full face one I used to wear on my street bike, but I never wear it on my trike.

Oh, and you need to take that off MySpace.

Alright, seems some people like the video and some don't.I am the original poster and will start by saying yes I probably should have had a helmet on and I am sorry for offending people by not wearing one. However yes I am lucky that I didn't land on my head. No real injuries to speak of, scrapes thats all. No I will not delete the thread or video, I am glad that some people can get a laugh. It's not that I don't know how to ride but that is an 85" 110 I was in low gear, leaned forward, couldn't get traction, probably should have just given up on that steep ass hill. It just wouldn't pull it up the hill, I doubt that any of you could make it up this hill on my trike, it is just not strong enough. Once again sorry for being so offensive by portraying the local yokel redneck riding in a cutoff T and tennis shoes. And to answer the posts, no it doesn't hurt to be this stupid, but yes I probably should go sit in a corner. Have fun

man you arnt the only one to get ripped and wont be the last. trust me i ride in skate shoes and a football jersey but i always use a helmet.

thats not the point for me though as much as when someone puts a video up of them "playing around" or what ever you wanna call it and people outside of the trike community see it they say "hey look i told you them things are deadly". the last thing we need is for people saying that kinda stuff. we are trying to save this sport not kill it.

i can tell you have never tryd to go to a atv park with a trike. some of them will say no trike allowed. that comes from the idea that trikes are "deadly" that is usually fueled by people doing dumb stuff. i mean i give ya props for taking on that hill with that tiny trike. but man next time just wear a helmet. (id hate to see someone get their head smashed.) ive seen too many people get hurt real bad by "playing around" on not just trikes but bikes and quads too.

dont take it personally man. but from the view of us that are tryn to keep the parks from banning trikes from going in it seems like we go 5 steps back when a video like that hits the net.

that thing would handle so horribly............it would, however, go through some major water. but in uneven ground, it would be on top of you instantly
