Alright well seeing as how my 200sx isn't selling, and I have a xr200 roller, I was thinking of making a trike out of the two. My idea is to use the xr frame and front end (for now until i get a x or R front end) and the quad rear end. Now this is my first ever conversion project like this so I am looking for ideas to get the SX rear end onto the XR frame. I'm not concerned about appearance at the moment I just want the chain to line up alright. The SX swing arm is probably a good inch or so wider at the mounting point than the XR swing arm and I thought about just cutting the swing arm to allow it to fit but then the chain wouldnt line up. Any one have any ideas or solutions to my problem here? I really want to get back onto three wheels and right now this is the only way as I have limited funds, and it just seems like a fun project to rip around on in the snow.

I'd love to see that engine in an 86 200X but I wouldn't want to do all the work your thinking on doing......
I'm not trying to discourage you, but most conversions are rarely done well and end up being fun and practical with good handling etc.
But, when your broke - your broke.

yeah I know what you mean. I would love to find a nice cheap roller to stuff the engine in but with no truck and very little funds it is nearly impossible, thats why I wanted to go with this idea. Its still up in the air though nothings final, and if i can get a 200x roller than that will be my route.

I'm thinkin with the added bulk of the reverse and the starter (cant remember if they were kick, pull, or electric),it's gonna be hard to fit in the xr frame (anything is possible though). But I am thinking that the sx just isnt worthwhile tryin to stuff in an xr200 while at the same time trying to convert to a trike. Your better off tryin to fit the 200sx into a 200x or 350x chassis, or puttin an xr 200 powerplant back in the bike frame then converting to a trike. It just seems like too much trouble for too little enjoyment, but It all come down to what makes you happy, just tryin to help.

yeah thats true. Im not sure what way I am going to go now. Im just trying to get back onto three wheels, I was thinking of getting a 200x roller or maybe even a small trike like atc70 or 110 project but like i said i dont have a truck (maybe find a 70 and ship it? ) and I dont have much money but can sell off or trade to someone...

im not real familiar with a 200sx, but would the engine bolt into a hardtail trike frame? You can probably find a hardtail frame (200, 200s, 200m, 185, etc) for next to nothing, and then try to use the 200sx axle, engine, rear fenders, and whatever else you can on the trike frame. You might need a trike gas tank but that shouldn't be a biggie, and I'm sure you could also get a set of solid front forks from a trike for next to nothing also.
