I will attempt to post pictures, I am not quite sure on how to do this, but I will try, because I LOVE PICS!!!!
Re-cap for everyone:
I just bought this trike 2 weeks ago from a guy who has owned it since '86. It's an '85 Honda 200x. He sold it for $400 which included an extra set of itp wheels and rotted knobbies along with brand new paddles on a set of itp wheels and new front knobby.
He had it stored for almost 2 years. He put gas in it and was able to start it, however the next day it took about 20 kicks to get it started and it wouldn't idle with a little bit of back fire.
I changed the oil, and the spark plug, and then even after 20 kicks it won't start, it tries, really hard, like it almost starts but just not quite there. So I brought it to the shop and bought a carb rebuild kit. The shop is backed up with clients (only 1 shop will work on trikes that I have found) so they can't look at it until wed.
Anyways...enough talking.....Look at the pics and tell me what you think!!!

smokin deal !!!! would def. say it is a carb issue. Dealer will wack you about $165. Did you do a compression test, spark test, gas flow check. even 1/4 tank of gas will not fire unless you turn that petcock to reserve.
Nice looking bike:beer

Oceanside Cycle Supply in Oceanside. This is my first time using them, but I was trying to find a place that A) works on trikes (haven't found much) and B) is inexpensive but not cheap

First off!
1.Drain the Gas tank completly. Make sure there is no Old Gas in there.
Start with Fresh 87 Octane Gas.
2. Check the Fuel Filter, and clean it.
If that doesn't work,
2. Take off the Carb and make sure it is clean inside.
Check that you can see light through both the Main and Idle Jets.
Should Fire right up.
After a few rides adjust Valves.

Also inspect the Air Filter. If it is Dirty, Start it with the Filter off.

That's one heck of a deal. I'm sure it's a simple fix with the carb. That is a very good find. :w00t:
