Hi guys. Will an older 200x Caliper fit a 87 200x if I reuse the 87 mount?

No, I dont think the mounts were the same. From looking at a friends 84 200x it looks like the mounts are on the swingarm and weleded. On my 200x the mount ataches to the carrier and holds on there with a clip.

here we go again lmao. yes the older calipers will work but you will need to use the 86-87 mounting plate.

I know the caliper mounting plate is different, but I am not sure about the caliper itsself. I saw an eBay action that stated a 86-87 caliper would fit a 83-85 if you reused the 83-85 mounting bracket. This is why I was curious if the caliper was the same. Seems it is, but different mounting hardware, but need to confirm.

Thanks, that is what I figured, but wanted to be sure...

Are there any other calipers that will bolt onto the 86-87 mounts. 300ex? 400ex? Anything?

I think the caliper its self is the same but yeah the plates are different. The only problem would be mounting the 86 plate on there. The older 200xs dont even have a removeable carrier like the 86s did. So there wouldnt be a whole lot of options to mount it. Unless you could fab something up. I really dont think it would be too hard, just a couple small tabs with holes would do probably.

I run a 2000 Banshee caliper with one simple little bracket.....
