has anyone had any luck testing their CDI units? i have a good radioshack multimeter and i follow the manual but i can't get a reading from the 200s 200m and 200e units and i know the 200e runs so that CDI unit should definetly be good, any ideas?

I think you need a special meter to test CDIs...if I remember right. But I was wrong once before so it could happen again.

Just a thought. Have you tried reversing the probes? If you're testing the Cdi using the Ohms range, and the unit contains diodes, then the current will only flow one way between certain points. So if the meter shows an open circuit, swap the probes and try again.
I've not tried testing a Cdi but this is certainly the case when checking rectifier/regulator units.
