Sanded to bear metal. I like that look. I think I would liek to keep it that color. How do I Keep that metal from rusting without painting it to a different color?

I was thinking about this just the other day, I doubt this would work for a variety of reasons, but does anyone know if you can get like a high temperature clear coat paint? I'm not sure how that would come out or even look, just a shot in the dark

I dont think high temp comes in a clear, maybe a ceramic coating would be close?

I know duplicolor makes an engine enamel clear coat.
Not sure if it would work for the exhaust though, I doubt it, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Really? So you polish your cases then use the high temp clear to protect them? Is it holding up to the abuse?

Duplicolor does make it and it does hold up to exhaust heat. Mine is clearcoated over the silver and its fine. And how would WD40 work on there to protect it? It just all burns off as soon as you start it?

Syko, Try silicone spray, i liked it better than WD.

Keep the scotchbrite pads around if you like that bare look. its not easy to keep. I for one spray them with silicone spray all the time to keep the rust off. i let them get the dark brown color but there no rusted.
