awesome thanks
do you know the stock psi?
and if i just get the .020 head gasket for my 86r it wont make the difference of having to use a higher octane like 106 will it?

You are going to have to bring the head down to a level thats safe with your gas you run. Higher compression means higher octane, it comes with the territory. I think if your bike is mostly stock, I would do some mods to it first before bore stroke or head work. Higher compression was icing on the cake for me because I had other stuff done to it first. These two strokes love race gas. Its like a whole new bike when its got plenty of octane. You must check your psi on a warm engine with the throttle wide open when changing the compression. Anything over 185psi will most likely need high octane. The head closer to the piston will knock harder because the squish band is smaller. Its a good idea to have the head rechambered with extra cc's for the change in compression. I think the stock compression is 170-175.
