Well I went to the junkyard to get parts for my truck and as I was looking I noticed a bunch of powersteering coolers that were about the same size as the oil cooler on my my 350x. So I got one off of a newer ford f-150 and its 3 1/2 inches longer and 1/2 inch wider. The tubing is like twice the size so it should hold a little bit more oil too. Its gonna look weird but more like a race bike. When I start the modding ill post up pictures.

I'm still gonna use a fan but I'm gonna use one that is smaller and better and put it either on the top or the bottom of the new one, cause the new one I have now is twice as long.
I was also thinking cause see how the tecates have the radtior on the forks well I seen a couple of transmission coolers that were the same length ans width as the forks of the 350 and I could adapt that to it, but it would look gay and I don't think the oil pump could do it

Ya since its alluminum I'm gonna have to tig weld it or I might just make plates and use bolts and nuts. And like the 400exs I was thinking about finding a small reservior tank to use to hold a little bit more oil but that's last on the list.

two problems:

bigger tube allows more oil to flow - but it also allows oil to flow faster thus cooling it less.

it looks like there are more passes on the 350x cooler because there is only two passes on the other one. more passes under the fins = more dissipation of heat.

im all for trying something new but I don't think that will work very well. I would be looking for more passes using the same diameter (=increased capacity) for better cooling

by all means do it up and see how it goes

Ya but its twice the size of the stock oil cooler and the fins are huge and also the lines on the new one are only just a little bit bigger and also I'm gonna put a fan somewhere on it I just have to figure it out, and it wouldent it be better cause it would increase the flow so the hot oil would get to the cooler faster and send the cool oil to the engine and then the process repeats, plus with the fan it should help, I'm gonna start the modding soon I just need more time

Hey buddy where did you find that oil cooler, cause if I could get it I will use it, and how did you mount it up to where it won't hit your gas tank, could you send me some measuremeants, if you don't mind

Its an oil cooler off of a 600 street bike maby an enduro, I found it at my local bike salvage yard. every cooler will be diffrent, urned my handlebars all the way and put it where it looked like it was going to clear nicely. the held it there while i checked if the gastank would clear, I had to drop it down from where i origionaly wanted it.
