ok, i got a 38mm mikuni carb from SYKO :beer

any jetting recomendations/good starting points for my 300r?

jet sizes/needle sizes.

we think it may be good to use as it is, but i would like to order some stuff now just in case.

i want to make sure im not breaking it in too lean, so how can i check to make sure it isnt running too lean while i break it in? i cant do a plug chop because i cant run it WOT until its broken in.........

also, if something is being a pain to start cold, what should be played with to make it start? also, how do you set the idle on these?

(sorry, i am a carb noob. i can adjust them good, but changing jets and needles is completely new to me.)

i run the 38mm mikuni on my z and with the cylinder poted and polished, head shaved, dg exhaust, an power reeds, i have a 310 main jet in it now. Seems to be fine. Before the porting and shaving there was a 290 main jet in there and it was perfect. Dont know as far as the other jets or adjustments. The idle screw on mine is on the top next to where the throttle cable goes in. You gotta loosen the nut and then adjust the screw then tighten the nut again, kind of a pain in the but.
