well first off HOLA GRINGO!! now for your 350x smoking how many hrs has it been since its been built? it may need alittle more time to seat the rings, im not big into the 4 pokes even though I just picked up a 350x, it smokes alittle but its ok, it kinda reminds of my 2 strokers! lol!

hmm....white smoke you say?
are you certain it is not a blue-ish smoke? blue-ish is oil use.
take a real good look at the smoke cloud. it is probably oil use, but
in cars, white smoke is usually antifreeze getting into the combustion chamber.

fill the oil up, then run it around for a while, and periodically check the oil and see if the oil level decreases.

maybe the bore has alittle to much clearance in it allowing some oil past.

did they hone it?? sounds like they may have done a crapy job or they didnt bore out all the scratches in it left behind by the old piston

i called the guy that did it and sed i might of honed it does any one know what it might caost for new rings for a .5 over wiseco piston

around 30-40 and might of honed it?? who honed it? you or him? im confused! if you sent it to a machine shop for a bore they should have finished honed it for you.

I didn't see this post until after I replied. Oh well we are saying the same thing. I would get my money back and take it to another shop for sure.

I am having exactly the same problem. I know for a fact that my 200x was bored and honed perfectly by a proffesional. I thought maybe the clutch had something to do with it. Adjusted the clutch and it stopped smoking. That same day it rolled down a 45ft hill and snapped the clutch off. Fixed it but it smokes again. Does not help my header pipe is fubared.

I have new pistons and rings and a wisco piston. bored 66.50. guides were still good. I pretty much just keep track of the oil, like i know i can ride for an hour with no problem but anything over that is risky. I am at a complete loss as to what could be wrong. I use 20-50 oil and change it after every ride.

WHAT!? you adjusted your clutch and it stoped smoking?.........ok.......thats a new one!

im not really sayin that was the cause but it was really weird. I doubt that messin with the clutch would really do anything but it was a coincidence. my clutch had zero give at the time. I'm thinkin of a new engine or something, startin to get a lot frustratin. lol

Well, oil only gets out a couple ways. A leak or it's burned are the usual causes. Burned can be done through improper clearances such as rings to cylinder wall, piston to cylinder wall or ring gap alignment. Valve seals are another way oil gets burned by bad valve seals or ones that wear out real quick when the valve guide clearance is too much. Some people tear the valve seal installing the valve.

A properly hone cylinder will have an criss cross type X pattern to it but you shouldn't be able to feel very much with your finger. On the machines I've rebuilt it didn't take rings very long to break in and they didn't smoke too much in the process.

This is why it's important to let a specialty motorcycle shop do your engine work.

Did you give them the piston BEFORE they bored it? or did you ask for .5MM over and then just had them bore it that same amount? They need the piston for an actual true O.D. measurement to work with.

yep i gave him the piston and its statring to make me mad cuz it burning oil im going to ride it to day see what it does sometimes it quits smokeing then it wont it like when i start it it dont smoke but it wont set and idle like the plug fauls out and dies every one saying its gas burning but i dont thank it is cuz when u chack the oil its going but when u let it set for an hour it over filled when i put the piston in it bfore it would smoke for like 10 min and stop i was thanking valve guid seals well hadthe head done and no it smoke worse
