There's an 84 or 85 kxt250(has black plastics and a grey colored frame) about 100 miles from my house that's for sale for $100. The trike is mostly all there, except theres no rear wheels, no chain and there is supposedly a fresh top end, but the trike doesnt have any spark. Sound like a good deal? I never thought about goin into tecate territory. Stator price? Parts availablity?

Well if you end up going to see it, I'd ask to see reciepts for the top end, because it doesn't look like he said anything about that before.
But, for a $100 I'd pick it up, you could easily part it out for a lot more than that, if you can't get it running.

Yeah, I was figuring that would be the thing to do, asses the damage then see if it is worth repairing or parting out. I think $100 is good deal but it hard to say what it will need.

You might be more interested in this one? It's a heck of a lot nicer then the one for a 100 bucks for sure.

Year after year after year I see it sitting there, have not seen it last time I was there but if the guy still has it he may part with it cheaper then 500, maybe 350 or so?

It's about 20 minutes west of Allentown Pa.

Yea that's a little far for me at the moment about 165 miles with gas prices and a
v8. Not really looking for a tec3, but for $100 and the proximity of it I though it was worth it.

Do you realize how quick you'll be up to the 350 you might get the other one for?

Comparing the two, I don't think it's worth a 100, parting it out, well yea, but fixing it up, your far better off with the other one, gas considered too.

Lets see 320 miles divided by, say 12mpg ? = 26approx ...X3bucks a gallon = 78 bucks, that isn't that much, talk the guy down to 300 ! :D :beer

Oh man, sorry about that but if it was me I would not even consider the other one.

Just so ya know, I'm not positive it's still there, it was not in the exact spot where I usually see it. If you call, let me know what's up, Thanks!

Good luck with the other one, if you get it. :beer

Maybe someone else will chime in and help out with your decision.

Truth be told I wish an 85/86 r would pop up around here. Maybe even a 350x, lookin for somethin to go with the 86200x.

In the market for a buy, jump on and ride one or save some bucks and one that needs work ?

Just curious.

Not quite sure. Prob a decent one at the moment, but after I sell my mustang prob somethin really nice. I'm gettin out of cars for now and gettin back into trikes. I'd prob even do a partial trade on my car if the right trike came up.

I'm going to stop by that place tomorrow, just out of curiosity to see if the guy still has it.
