What changes do I need to make to have my x be more of a MX trike. I was at a MX track last weekend and I was hitting double fine. Is there anything I need to do to make it a better mx trike?

Add some progressives to the front, 18 inch tires, plus axle, aftermarket suspension, pipe the list is endless lol

Progressive spring inserts replace your stock ones and add progressive dampning. Add some 15-20 wt oil pending your weight and add PVC pending weight(shows you on instructions I beleive)
Rear shock, get a Works, affordable and work great! Unless you wanna go ohlins or elka

I just read to switch out the swinger to a 250r and a + 4 axle. I guess iam going on the hunt for parts.

I didnt know you could do that! Thats sweet
now if you wanted a cheaper option you could go wheel spacers....
only thing is they might bend under the weight, I done a dead drop or 5-6 feet on my other R with them and no issues, when hitting a double or ramp its alot easier on it as long as you clear it lol

Call up Douglas, order a custom 10 rim. Thats where mines outa
you have to shave the front caliper alittle to make it work jsut minor its no biggie, also check out FCR suspension in my sig they can rebuild your rear shock for MX use alot cheaper then buying a new custom shock I would sugest getting extended hubs for your axle as well, there alot cheaper then a complete axle aslo take whatever off your machine that you dont need, like lights, maybe some trimed fenders, and kintors right progressive springs and heavier oil in the forks will greatly help, the rear tires I would say 18's fast trackers or turftamers or holeshots on 8 or 9 inch rims

You say a 250R swinger is a bolt on to a 350X??
Which shock are you gonna run and what does that do to the ride height??

The 250R swinger is NOT a bolt-on to the 350X. It has been done by Jason Hall though, with some machining. The biggest improvement you could make is to swap over to a set of 250R front forks and triples. Those X forks are puny.
Dammit!

You have to weld some kind of steering stop onto the frame to use the 250R triples though right?

I have a 450r swingarm that Is already machined to fit a 350x, I'm sure you can use 250r shock & linkage with the 450r swinger. You need to weld a linkage mount to the bottom frame tube on the X to use the 250r shock & linkage. You also have to narrow the top shock bushing on the R shock to make It fit the X top shock mount. Then of course you will need the 450r carrier & axle. The 350x hubs will bolt right up to a 450r axle.
