Hey guys,
Im starting to develop a problem as my dad says haha. For some reason, im doing things on my 3wheeler I never ever thought I would do and im not caring! Im getting ran over alota time, bucked off, rolling down 100 foot gravel hills to save my bike, trying just stupid crap lol Like for example, yesterday I got ran over cause I tried to pull a wheelie sitting on the headlight and bars. Im doing stuff I never ever woulda thought about 6 months ago or hell even a year. Either this is a sign im stupid, or im just getting to comfortable on it!
Hell ive started building a FMX ramp  22 feet long, 8 high and 8 wide ( I sense alota AC DC goin to be blaring lol)
what the hell wrong with me? lol anyone else turning into what ive become?

are you bored? too much time on your hands? no girlfriend?
its bad to get comfortable on a bike of any kind - especially when its a performance machine.
as seat-time passes we all get more comfortable. some of us accept it, and some of us build 8 ft ramps...
has anyone ever backflipped a trike? I have seen it on a quad and on a bike - maybe you will be the first?

Already discussed this, I want a foam pit. I feel there is limits on dirt and consequences for trying it a first time lol

 sounds like your Dad may have a atc for sale, after you break your neck....young & immature syndrome...wanting to show off "ism" we all do tricks and mess around,i know i done my share ,i have owned atc's atv's and dirt bikes all 2 stroke powered until you get hurt , I have calmed down and ride a 200x atc and jump little jumps and trail ride mainly, iI hurt my back while mx riding and large jumps from earlier this year I am still rehab'n my back from a pinched nerve ,that make my lower back kill me and right leg go numb.... dumb stuff ain't worth it after you have been hurt..wise up and enjoy your atc or somebody else will one day...:D

You know, I dont think its that I get to comfy, I think my issue is sometimes I ride beyond my ability!
But theres only one way to get better, get out there and push yourself!!

friends of mine are doing reverse wheelies on their grizzlies all the time...
i think there is a fine line between being comfortable, and being stupid.
personally, i never ride too fast, or do a lot of the things you people do...but i also don't wear any protective gear of anykind...only wear shoes because the 200x pegs hurt my feet.

i got an atc 70 when i was almost five, before that i was on my grandpa's big red...i'd just put it in third and ride around the yard. lol.
from there, to a badger 80, to a timberwolf, back to the badger, to a 200x with an S motor, to a beartracker, now i'm back to a 200x.
i've wrecked 4 or 5 times...before the age of 8. haven't in the last twelve years.
i don't jump, i don't really ride trails aggressively, the only time i flat out hall is on the gravel roads around here or in the oil fields. i'm thinking about getting a helmet though, simply because my eyes water too much when it's cold and i'm rolling.
i've just never worn it, and i'm stubborn....and i'd never think of doing a backflip. even with a foam pit.

if the foam pit was big enough I would try it!!! but it would have to be twice the size needed for me to do it - I have seen a guy miss one -ewww

if you can't do a backflip on your feet don't bother trying on anything.

your skill is progressing.the better you get,the better you feel.the more you learn the bike, the better you feel.when i ride it's like second nature to me.i don't think about it,i never contenplate how the face is gonna kick me,if the landing is smooth,or what might happen if i don't clear it.it's all a natural flow for me.i know how my bike is gonna act.take t.f. for example, after breaking the +2 swinger in half,i bolted up that stocker.well third lap in i smack the table top,and she bucked bad, shorter swinger, faster rebound.sent me nose divin over that table.todd was standing there, and he said it was funny watchin me.most people would stiffin up,and probally ride it out.he said it was like i was going over ever possible way out.i looked left, looked right, leaned back, panic reved it out, trying to get the front up,and right before impact,i put my hands on the tank, did a leap frog of the bike, and tuck, and rolled.it happened so slow.it's wierd once you get comfortable with your machine.it's like time slows down,or rather your mind process's everything so much faster because your in your element.it only gets worse too.you'll go bigger, and bigger, till your pushing your trikes ability.that's when you know you got game.when the trike can no longer handle what your doin with it.these 250r's are pretty capable machines, but they do have thier limits.sooner or later you'll be breaking frames, and swingers, bending axles.thats when you know you can run with the big dog.....eeeerrrrrrrffffffff

You better still be running the Trike brandon, I want some compitition! Not sure if im going to a quad yet( 250r-lonestar frame, elkas the whole bit), still alot to learn and 3wheeler will triple my rate of learning and Ill have more fun! Hell im still only 17!
Knock knock :)

eh.....a quad? the only thing that will be fast to you after that new motor will be a banshee or something else wicked fast....stick with casper, and master that beauty. when frames start breaking, fab up a heavier duty one, or modify it to take a heavier beating.

11-08-2007, 01:28 AM
It's like the 80's the built bigger faster, stronger more capable bikes..and imagine where it'd be now if they didn't quit selling them? I'm going to guess some of the best tech would be on a trike.
I don't know anything about racing or anything, but how would revving your bike...in the air right? help the front end lift up?

11-08-2007, 02:33 AM
Sure, all the time.... but does an atc70 count? It's amazing how much more I will push the trike when I am only a foot from the ground.... or maybe it because it’s a 70 so all out still isn't that fast
That new motor has something to do with it.

Iv never tryed any stunts or jumps with my bikes. Unless I was in sand. My weight and these old frames are perfect recipe for multiple cracks. Plus I don't want to get hurt from trying something I know I can't do. I did fall off once. I was in soft dirt and jetted too rich on my R. It would not hit the power band and I decided to feather the clutch till it hit. Well it hit sure enuf and started to spin my bike sideways. Tipped over and flopped me right into the dirt. I felt like a kid falling off a bike when it happened. Then I felt bad because I was hurting my bike. So I jetted leaner and stayed away from the clutch feathering at wot.

i dont have time to read everyones responses here so Im just going to throw mine out and apppologize if its a repeat.
OK, so I have done alot of snowboarding and skateboarding among other dangerous adrenaline packed activities. I truely think that after you develope a balance for what your doing, get a REAL good feeling for the underlying mathematics of flying through the air or preparing to have to hit the ground and roll away from a wipe out, thats when you are actually at your best. When you arent scared its safer in a sense: You dont tense up and end up doing more damage to yourself and your machine etc. When I wipe out on a threewheeler, or wipe out at 20+mph on a snowboard, theres a certain feeling you get where you stop thinking about things and your body just feels them to a degree that allows you to "roll" away uninjured. some people will know what I mean here, I may not say it how they understand it, but the meaning is the same.
on the other hand its dangerous to lose all fear, that just makes you crazy !
in summary: No fear is dangerous, but the ability to stop thinking at the moment when your just about to wreck and just let your instincts react (ex falling off a trike at speed!) is cool.

Im very cautious so I never go beyond my limits. Ive never broken a bone(25yrs old) and been to the hospital just a few times for stitches. Screwing up the rest of your life over doing stupid childish sh1t isnt worth it IMO. I know this because I have done some stupid things, but they havent cost me yet. Im doing my best to prevent it. :beer

Hey Kintore, a good girlfriend will stop you from doing to many stupid things, a bad girlfriend will keep encouraging you to go further with stupid things. Then she'll up and leave you when you're layin in the hospital.

I like to have fun and show off every once-in-a-while. However I keep it realistic, and doing a backflip on a 3 wheeler is way in my redzone of realistic things to attempt. Sure, a foam pit is probably the safest way to do it, but once you get a hang of it in the pit, nothings going to stop you from trying it outside on dirt.
Doing a stunt and proving everyone else wrong just adds to the fun, doesn't it? Sure it does. I'd love to be able to do some of those jumps and tricks.
I know how your thinkin Kintore. I'm 20...so we arent that far out of the same thinkin boat.
As far as all those stunt devils go...I've seen that Travis Patansdfsajf guy before, and it takes pain to get the fame. He'll be payin for his 15 minutes of fame for the rest of his life, if he doesnt die an early death.
On a different note, there is a foam pit down here Utah.
honestly the freestyle tricks are no fun to me or even to really watch I do enjoy the huevos films, but I just enjoy the jumping more or less like danamils domain on hevous 10 the jumps were SICK! I would concentrate on jumping for MX and not all that freestyle crap, not only could you cause insane amount of damage to your whip but to yourself as well, guys like degan and bettis all had a major backer before they went crazy with freestyle, whos going to back you up when your in the hospital with 500,000 in medical bills that your parents insurance WONT pay becouse you were doing something irresponsable to them. I wouldnt totaly ditch the idea of tricks, but I would let that come later when your better then the best at what your doing right now, just becouse you got a motor with alittle more power that makes things easier donst mean it came with the power to do things even major riders dont even attempt.
