ok, im sure you guys have heard this a million times, but i want to know which is a better choice exhaust, in quality, sound, power, looks, etc. for my 1984 200X. these were the ones i was thinking about in order from 1st to last.

1) DG Krome Power Exhaust

2) DG Alloy Rcm Exhaust

3) DG Steel Rcm Exhaust --OR-- Cobra Aluminum

4) Cobra Steel

with the DG Krome Power Exhaust, after some riding time, will the chrome blue?
are there any know defects/problems with any of these exhaust?
basically which is the best overall exhaust? i was thinking of going with the DG Krome Power, or DG Alloy RCM Exhaust. thanks.

Probably one of the DGs. I never had good luck with any of the cobras so I would say dg or custom. I got a pro circuit t4 off ebay for cheap and modded it onto my 200x and it sounds and looks way cooler than any other 200x setup ive seen.

Definately go with one of the DG's...Cobras literally start falling apart on the first ride.

This is my experience with SEVERAL Cobras: packing falls out and paint flakes of within 2-3 rides, header flange cracks and wont let the exhaust bolt to the head, have to weld the header flange to the bracket and the welds dont hold because of where its at, the carbon catcher tends to fall out and the screw tab breaks, so the catcher has to be welded on. And the fit is horrible. They sound bad compared to DG's also.

WOW im completely opposite, I hate DG, i have never see anything good come out of that shop, Everything is poorly built and a cheap crappy design.

I will never recomend a DG,

Cobra on the other hand i never have had any problems with them, There sound isnt anoying loud with the nasty ping sound you get out of a dg, A cobra brings a much deeper tone.

I ran the cobra aluminum on my 86 200X for about a year and had no problems at all with it. I really liked the sound of it to. The steel cobra on the other hand is a pos! I had that one on for a week and the core fell out. I never ran a dg on any of my x's so I can't give you input on those.

Yeah personally Im not happy with either exhausts, but I think the DGs for bigger bikes get better, and between Cobra and DG id pick DG. I wish someone else would make an exhaust for the 185/200 motors, there not much of a selection between crap and worse crap lol.

I havent used them, BUT Jardine makes exhaust for the smaller atc's 90's, 110's, 185, 200e, and es 200sx, and the big red.

Now i dont know how they sound. but i love the jardine pipes ive put on big bikes. Might be able get one for the 200x. Knowing jardines company its going to be a good quality and sounding system

 but yea i hear ya. its a shame that everything gets discontinued or no one even make parts for the bikes because their "dangerous" or "old and out dated", and theirs not a big demand for the parts:rolleyes:. and most of the parts that are still made, are not exactly of the best quality.

but im leaning towards one of the DG's as for now, probably the alloy RCM or steel RCM, but i'll see what other people have to say. i like the look of the Krome Power Exhaust, but i dont want the chrome to blue:(.

You can still buy the supertrapps,,,you just need your own header pipe I believe.

ok, so now im thinking of going with the DG steel RCM or DG alloy RCM. but if you compare the 2 side by side it appears that the DG steel RCM is a better fit, because on the alloy RCM it appears that their is no bottom mounting tab, and the steel RCM is bent more then the alloy RCM. but both of the head pipes are bent different. it also appears that the alloy RCM sticks out of the back of the bike further because of the placement of the mounting tab and might scrape when doing wheelies. Does anyone know which one lines up better? or if they both fit good? or which one is better over all(as in sound, power, looks, quality, etc.)? does anyone have any pics of these mounted on their 200x? or is there any way DG can match a painted head pipe with the Krome muffler, that way the exhaust wont blue? thanks for all the help guys.

I had a 200X with a Bassani that I feel worked the best. Both the DG and Cobra are reverse megaphone pipes which gives the most top-end power on a fourstroke.

Cobra stamps (makes) alot of the pipes for DG. I have been to the Cobra facility and seen it in person.
