Engine diffrences between tri-z and yz250

What are the engine diffrences between the two. Can a top end work off of a yz250? Would diffrent years work? How much work would be involved in putting on a powervalve cylinder.

I want to say 83 yz engine is the one too look for top end wise. There are a many of members who have played with this conversion. They will chime in maybe. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. This has been chatted about many a time. You will find all you need there possibly

I believe chainsaw had an 85 yz powervalve top on one of his z's. I think Derrick Adams was doing one too. I think somewhere around 87-92 you could use the yz250 piston as long as you utilized the yz250 sleeve also (not positive on the years).
