after asking about the rake of the forks i got to thinking most trikes have standard rake but the adj is in the swing arm, what purpose does this longer swing arm serve and would the same concept apply for extending a hard tails rear wheels? thanks for the input.

Well a longer wheelbase will keep anything from wheelying as easy. also the longer you go the harder it is to turn on a trike.. IMO

+2 is about the max people have found where you still retain almost stock turning. Anything above that gets more and more and goes up continusally.

Yea the longer you go the tougher it will get.. Now if you want to drag race then you go long, if you want to mx/trail ride then a +2 or so would be great still .. Keeping the front end down when you get on it hard is important if not you waist time clutching and braking etc.
