Hey,
I need some help. I bought a Honda trike today for $100, but I have no idea what year/model it is?
It has engine probs, and I need to buy a manual. It only starts when you catch it in gear.
I can't find a vin # on the engine or frame. Any ideas where to look? Theres a number on the front fork, but it dosen't look like a vin #.
I was told it was a Honda 90cc. (Don't think honda made a 90?) It is a 4 speed auto, chain drive, 4 stroke? Tires 21-10-8.
Thanks for the help.
Dave

Honda definitely made a 90... It was the trike that started it all. They made the 90 since 1970. Anyways, looks like you got a atc90 i would guess maybe 1978. Should be a Vin # on the frame right where the forks connect on the left side.

So, Honda did make a 90.
VIN was on the top steering stem. (all rusted out)
US90-219080 That means 90cc, year 1980? Am I right on that one?
As soon as I get her up and running, I'll post some pics.
Thanks for the help.

us90 means the us version, 90cc. 210000^ is 80, the 80 in the vin is the model made. it should be 80, but this site doesn't list 90's being made in 80

It looks like a 90 to me. It's doesn't have a bracket for a light so it doesn't look like a 110 to me.

Have a look at the bottom of the barrel, the cc's should be stamped there.

1st off welcome to the site if I haven't said it already.
Now it's time for a History Lesson.
Back in 1970 Honda started selling a 3 wheeler Called a US90. They called it a US90 from 1970 thru 1973. In 1974 they changed it to Atc90.
Being as your Vin starts with US90 this tells me it's a 1970-73. The last 6 digits are 219080 and checking the spex pages I can narrow it down to a 72-73 model. Here is the spex page covering this machine: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/1972_73HondaSpecPage.shtml
Now Knowing how Honda does there serial numbers from year to year I am willing to say it's a 1973 model. My basis for that is on other models they would use 200000 for one year and 210000 for the next. And being as they started with 200000~ in 1972, then 1973 should start with 210000.
The tires are not original ( I'm helping everyone with the wrong answer here. ;) ) and that is probably what throwed everyone off on Identifying it. The original Tires would be a 22x11x3.5 One piece tire and rim. The true Balloon tire.
To see what the 3 wheeler looked like via a original ad click here: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/zHonda1972to1975ads1.shtml
Notice the Tank decals they are the same. The color is different probably because someone painted yours. If the front fender is original it will be steel. 1974 they started using Plastic.
1 more thing, Of all the 90cc trikes Honda made the 1970 thru 1973 is the most valuable. A 100% original 1970 one sold on Ebay 1 1/2 years ago for $1850 . I would say yours as is should be worth $350 - $600 Running ( estimate ).
If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Tim Sr don't call my place "Howdy's House of Honda" for nothing. lmao
Thanks

No problem. That is just one of the many reasons we are here for. ;)

A good 77 atc90 around here ( Celina, Ohio ) would fetch between $325 and $550. Different areas around the country will bring more or less.
