maybe it is a spring that came from a broken oil seal. I know that some seal have a spring like this between the rubber and the cage of the seal.

Did you have the clutch side cover of? It looks like a spring that goes in between the clutch assembly and the side cover. I could definitely be wrong though.

thats the oil seal spring on the cam cover/ignition box thing. it just pops back in place. ....or you can replace the seal which is a better option...

bingo, i beleive thats it man thanks alot. One more quick question...how do you adjust the cam chain on these models. is it VIA the bolt with the 8mm head on it or is the 14 mm nut? Im a little confused. Also when you break in a motor ..some people say its best to run premix for the first tank...what ratio should you mix the fuel. Thanks guys...i appreciate all your help.

NO PREMIX!
and u loosen the 10mm bolt on the bottom case WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING!
then in about 10 secs tighten it up

yeah just run it half throttle for a couple tanks

okay man no premix ..gotcha. Also..the 10mm bolt has been lost. how long does the bolt have to be or does it matter. I just dont understand how the adjuster works. You remove the bolt let it run for 10 seconds with it out then do you put it all the way back down or do you just go till you feel tension. I've never done a honda before. I rebuilt about 4 ytm 200s and a million 2 strokes but this is my first honda 200.
