well, i havnt ridden one, and mine is still being constructed.
i have a few clowns telling me that it wont hold a candle to their modded 450's.
i personally think there stupid and arrogant, but what you guys think?

BTW, this thing will eventually get a 4mm stroker crank to go with the 300 kit.

another Q, i have some new boyessen power reeds, and what appear to be some carbon fiber reeds (used, think there boyessen PRO). what would be better to leave in it for more power?

The 450's will get the power to the ground better, that's for sure. I would think on a short run they would be pretty close but the the 450 would motor away once your above 50 or so, all just a guess of course.

Here ya go on the reeds .............

the 450's are'nt that fast...banshee is faster and if a R can keep up with them, then i am sure your trike should be able too....

I usually never reply to these "what's faster" post but how in the world is a R faster then a 2 cylinder 350cc banshee ?

I'm not talking drag racing here because a lot of off the line rider reflex is involved, I'm talking if you side by side, on perfect traction terrian where there is no wheel spin involved and pin it, I just don't see how a R would keep up ?

The 300 kits are surprising. I was beating piped and carbed liquid 250R's with mine in the drags at TF.

yea the 300s fo some odd reason (I guess port layout) make stupid tourqe, I did some draggin a few 400ex's and a 450r and we were always neck and neck and then over all speed I could pull them any way, but even though we were neck and neck I was leavin serious roost and diggin a trench and lifitn the front even if I was leaning forward and clutching it!!! 1up will tell you how the fare agains the quads, he drags his all the time and destoyes!

my 300r kit is going to be ported to the max. With my 6inch extended swinger and some 4-snow drag tires I should be able to drag mine out and get some good results:w00t:

Thanks man this 300r of mine has been very good to me at the drags even though it's kind of a handfull to keep the front end down but I've developed a riding style to remedy this. Next season I'll have headwork done a +2 swinger and a forged ported piston so I should break into the high 4 second range in the 300ft.:naughty:

Make sure and come out to thunder valley next season and race man it's wicked fun and I'll help you fine tune your airfooler. Next season I should have my 350r airfooler full drag trike done and I'll be running in the outlaw class too.

The only difference is I'm gonna do a 4mm stroker crank to get the full stroke that the fl would have also. But Alan's is gonna be a total sleeper because the cylinder he's using is the bore of a fl350 squeezed into a 300r kit, mines gonna have the big old fl350 cylinder and head.

OMG! Talk about beat down! On Video too! 1upfront, you wrong for that....LOL I put one of those whoppins on a guy with my 86' Liquid R and he had a new Honda 450R in AZ, what made it wrost he was going to MMI. Couldn't beleive that he didn't know what the power band on 2 strokes were like. He knows now though!....LMAO! I want my 84' Airfooler to be faster than my Liquid R. Think that's possible 1upfront?

I can beat liquid r's on my 83 trail r and it's a stock cylinder trail ported, last bore motor with reeds, pipe and pwk 36mm carb and I'm running an airbox with a lid, I was able to all day at trikefest now don't get me wrong there was the occasional modified liquid r or tecate that I couldn't get but not to many.

That's what I wanted to hear! I thought a 300R should be faster than my liquid R. Can't wait to get my 300R together! I think I'll go into the garage and make chainsaw noise while sitting on it .....LOL!

What time have you turned in the 300ft? By the way, I understand how you have to ride it, but that's just makin up for the lack of setup on the machine for 300ft. You stretch it out and your gonna gain another 2 10ths easy. Put the power to the ground!!!

Personally I run a stock cylinder tripple exhaust port with a +10 swinger 10 paddle superlights and ran a best of 4.89 at Dunefest 06, pure sand track.

I think you can easily run that or faster with a better setup...

This bike was purpose built to win in a certain cc class the 350 2stroke class and it has proven itself again and again even being 55cc's under the limit. I've already thought about building an 83 350cc stretched r on alcohol for the unlimited class its just a matter of time, so I wont go to much further with this bike besides I can already beat stretched wheelie bar banshees in my class no prob. I've ran 5.2's at 61 mph with only a plus 2 swinger on a 25 year old bike I think thats pretty impressive besides I'd rather ride it out it takes a bigger pair:acr

I have a little video footage to back that up. The last run on this clip is against a 1200 buell with a knobby. He was closing fast but couldn't close the deal.

Wow. 1upfront, you are the man! I've got a 1984 250R, TRI-Z and Tecate, all 3 of the big liquid bikes. But I also have an 84 R and I was going to big bore one of them it would be the 84R. I thinking it will end up with a 300 kit one day, probably not too far off.
