82 250R air filter in a 81 250R??

Hi all, does anybody know if I can use a 82 airfilter from a 250R in a 81 250R? I have the 81 cage also.

As far as I know they are the same. Do You run it with or without the airbox cover? I never got mine to run right with the cover.

Well, now it doesnt have an airfilter at all on it and still runs OK. But I havent ran it much as I just picked it up a few days ago. The airscrew was only opened about 1/4 turn. I dont want to run it without a filter though.....I have the airbox cover on it also.
