I have a 1985 honda 350x and I need more power a lot more power. Its piped and it has a k&n and a 14 tooth front sproket. I also have the majority of every alluminum piece you can put on the chassis. Its pretty fast but I want to go faster. SWIGIN just told me I can use a sleeve and piston(89mm) and a 6mm crank from a early 80s xr500. Can I get any pros or cons on this? I really want to do something.

Would the xr500 jug fit on the 350x cases or not.

Does it fit right in or would I have to get it machined?
Also Does the xr 500 use a 38mm carb and if it does can I just use that carb.

you have to get the sleeve fit to your jug and i dont know what size carb the xr500 uses but you will need at least a 38mm for a 460cc 350x
one more thing..... you will have to tell powroll what piston your useing so they can shorten the rod enough
the xr500 piston has a higher piv location so the rod needs to be shorter, they already shoten the rod 3mm for a 6mm stroker so they will need to know this to go enough

Your just going to be building a timebomb. Do things in steps until your happy with the performance. A 350x can haul ass but its not going to stay together. When i built my 350x (its still a true 350) and my tranny dosent like the power i have from that thing.

Ya I was talking to a guy at the shop I work at and he said his friend did that a couple years back and it lasted for a year and he had to rebuild it and it had other issues. He said since mine is piped and k&ned just add a cam to it and new clutch. Also put in fresh engine parts and every other allumunum piece you can find to make it lighter.
If I get a hair up my a** and the money I will most likely do what jason hall did.
