can someone give me a count on number of links on a +2 swinger with 13/42 gearing. i am ordering now as we speak i was going to order 104 links parts unlimited x-ring chain thanks

Yeah, you are in the ballpark, but probably too long, may have to break a few links off before you put it together. is that a fresh engine in your Tecate? If so, that thing is gonna rip your arms out of their sockets with gearing like that. What size rear tires are you running? I run 20" rears and 14/38 gearing and I'm thinking of going just a bit taller. Watch-out. Chris

brand new pition and rings you think i should run different gears i am going to order the sprockts at the same time as the chain what gearing would be good for trail riding and should i get the same lenght chain 104 lnks

What size rear tires you gonna run? If 22s, 13/42 would be fine, 20s maybe 13/38, 18s maybe 14/38. I run 14/38 on 20s and my big bore 300 spins them easily. Maybe some of the other Tecate guys will chime in soon with their take on gearing and chains. Good looking Tecate you're building BTW. When you get it done, post up some pics so we can all see. 14/38 with 18inch fasttrekkers...:beer i was told when ordering a new chain for an extended swinger...say a +2 swinger would require +4 inches of chain, 2 inches more on bottom of chain, 2 inches more on top of chain. simple, plus more is better, you can always cut down a chain to the right length.
