Hey guys. I am trying to figure out what to do for some rear brakes on my 85 200x. I have 2 rear calipers and 3 master cylinders. None of them work. They all have rust dust in them. I tried cleaning them out but can't seem to get them to work. Has anyone rebuilt these, or do you just have to buy new, or used working. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. can I just disassemble and clean everything? Any suggestions on a cheap fix?

there are some new calipers on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-ATC-TRX-200X-250X-300EX-400EX-New-Rear-Caliper_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43974QQihZ013QQ itemZ230180846094QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW), but their $100, i have never heard of rebuild kits for the 83-85s, but they have them for the 86-87s (http://denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/MMYSkuDisplay.jsp;jsessionid=5YCIXMTVQ1GZ5LA0WTISM 4VMDK0OWIV0?leafCatId=11308&catId=113&store=Main&mmyId=11866), but there may be some for the 83-85s, and see this for the caliper swaps. Very easy to rebuild and about 20$ in parts to do it. AS LONG AS the slide pins aren't all seized up etc etc. Another 30$ for good pads...

Do a search and you'll find tons of info on rebuilding brakes unless you have a specific question....

just get a front caliper from a 2000 or newer cr80 just switch it over to the 200x rear caliper bracket. it bolts rite on.

i did a thread about it in the mad scientist section
