hey, i was riding my tri-z and i did a 1-2 minute donut(who wouldn't?) and stoped and rode around for about 4 minutes stoped to open the gate killed the bike and the next thing i know is that the bike made a gurgal nosie and started pisssing oil every where...the bike still runs so the motor is not blown, but can you tell me why the oil was grey?

Water or gas in the oil. If its water then you either blew a gasket of cracked the head or sleeve. Im not sure on you trike but on some the water pump seal can leak back in to the cases. Maybe someone who knows Z's will chime in soon.

well, idk if it is worth to fix this motor....what do you guys think? and much would it sell for?(motor, not bike...)

And if it has a craked cylinder how much would a bore kit cost?(have a buddy that could do the bore)

pull the head and check it out. it could just be a $20 gasket.

More than likely, your waterpump and or seal took a crap.Alot of times the plastic impellar falls off the shaft. From your description of the problem,it sounds like the seal has failed, and it overfilled your trans with oil and water, then spit out the vent tube next to the sprocket. Take the cap off the radiator when cold, and run the bike. You should see the coolant moving in the radiator. If not, then pull the little waterpump cover and check to see if the plastic blade is still attached to the shaft. If it is broken, pull the clutch cover and get a new waterpump and Banshee waterpump seal fits the tri-z, and the pumps are still available at the dealer for like 25 bucks.Fix it flush your trany out with oil and you will be fine. That whole fix would only cost you about 50-60 bucks including coolant and new oil,and clutch gasket.

Six speed tri-z bottom ends pull good money.I would fix the bike.Worst case if the motor is blown, you can rebuild the whole thing for 3-400 bucks, if you can do all the work yourself.

I highly doubt you cracked the jug unless you got it hot enough to sieze the piston.Does it still run?

I own 3 Tri-z's so that is my best guess from my experiences.

grey oil is generally water in oil

cool, it does still run, i checked it after it sat for a while...and it seemed like it was sucking alot of coolant from the small white container on the side and the radiator is still full of coolant, so i hope it is fine... so, how mush does a running tri-z motor go on ebay? and also which motor is better? the yz or the stock motor?

if the coolant is low and your oil is grey/white.. mechanical seal in the waterpump is bad.. its pumping the coolant into the case

well whats the diffrence between the yz250 and the tri-z motor... it would be cool to have two motors...
