i have recently heard of a 200R 3 wheeler by Honda.
ifrom what i understand, it is a 200 2 stroke motor on a 200x frame, and honda only made them for like a year.

anyone heard of these?

I believe somebody on the board bought an old original factory racer 200r off ebay like a year ago. I cant remember who though.

200r's were one-off racers for factory efforts, none were ever offered to the public,, the 200r on the board is a sleeved down 250r,, built as a racer more than likely by a privateer,,,,,,,,

Like Kasey said the 200R was a Factory Bike built by Honda, or you could build your own with a aftermarket kit.

Team Kaw with Jimmy White and gang started this 2 stroke debore 250 cc to 200cc (83-84) to compete with hondas new 200X. (Still amazed that they allowed 200cc 2&4 stroke compete in same class but a few years ago they allowed 426-450 4 stroke dirt bikes compete in the 250 2 stroke class ??????????) Any way Honda start getting smoked at the races after Kaw had time to work out the kinks. Honda had to ante up to compete with Kaw. They didn't debore the 250 right away. I remember seeing pitures of Team Honda raceing a 200x framed 200 2stroke "MTX" ( I think) engine. Seems like there was some kind of "Honda" Political-Buisness reason for going that route at first. Eventuality they went with a "in house' 200cc engine. All the non factory Honda racers (Honda-kaw-yamaha) used the debore route. The 2 & 4 stroke was finally split to two different class shortly after Honda's 200 factory units hit the tracks.
There was no "production" 200 2 stroke units

It belongs to one of the board members here. Not sure who, but there are a couple of members here who have them. Do a search, I"m sure you'll come up with a few.

I miss that 200r but had to make a few sacrifices to build other parts of the collection

Perusing through my old issues of Dirt Wheels (83-86), there was discussion at one point of a 200R being officially released, but as far as I can tell it was never produced. In fact, there's quite a few articles discussing the elimination of the 200cc racing class completely at one point, so I guess Honda didn't think it was in their best interests. Maybe Mike Coe would know a bit about this in detail??

Found while flipping through a May 1983 ATV News. At the April 16th Dallas Supercross race at the Cotton Bowl, Ricky Martin (Who had rode yamahas and was from Louisiana like Hart and Wright) was rideing for "Smitty's ACT" on a debore 83-250r. He had the only 2 stroke in the 200 class finishing 2nd behind Gaian and in front of Dunlap.
So team green wasn't the first to "debore" as I stated above, but they were still the ones for the push on "debore" raceing.
