I am rebuilding an 84 200es big red. I bought it mostly in pieces and that's making it hard to put back together. I am to the point of fitting rear fenders, tool box, grab bar and rear rack with those danged fender braces. This all seems like a giant puzzle designed to render sweet and profanity from whomever is foolish enough to try.
Someone tell me this isn't as hard as I've made it to be. There must be a logical sequence to install all these pieces that works without all the profane english to help it all get together. Last weekend, the rear fenders, tool box and grab bar took three hours. I just finished trying the rear rack and it would be easy if I was a contortionous with four arms and x-ray vision so I could see through the fenders to line all the pieces up.
Thanks, Chris

I think the order to reassemble these parts is:
Grab bar, tool box, fenders, rack, brackets.
Me too It took me an hour to put these items back on my big red. My mistake was that I tried to bolt the fender's braket before install the rear rack.

Thanks Yamada, yeah I tried every damned hole on the frame to get the fender brackets to line up to. Just today I realized they bolted to the installed rear rack.
I'd like to get the rack on without the fenders. Fenders should be last, IMO. They hide all the mounting points for the other stuff. Doesn't make it easy. I'm just fitting anyway, to see what I have and how it goes together. I think I now have a good enough idea, and all the pieces/parts to assemble the puzzle. I need to take it all apart now anyway. The engine isn't in yet and I have to fab an exhaust so I don't want fenders in the way to get burned.

Post some more pics of the RED. Mines done all but the front brakes and some paint on the rear rack. Think pretty hard of putting some LTZ400 hubs on it and putting some rims/tires on it like you did.

It works great. My wheels are 12" with 5+2 offest. Last weekend I swapped sides, now the offset is 2+5 and the trike is 6 inches wider. Looks good and should be more stable, that is if I ever finish this eternal rebuild. Chris
