ok so i just got a 250es big red and i need to now when the choke is on and when its off where should the switch be so that the choke is off to the left or the right

it will only run when its to the left

"on" is left, and the choke is 'off' when the lever is to the right.

i bought a rebuild kit so that jet should be there

If its only running on (left) then you have a blockage in the carb rebuild it and poke out all the passages, Buy some carb clean!
