Hi, Will a 1985/86 225DR engine drop right in to a 1984 225DX? I have been looking for a DR for a while but one hasnt shown up. If a engine from that drops right in does anyone have one for sale that runs? If so how much shipped? Let me know any help, Thanks

if they are both chain. or both shaft drive i dont see why not

yeah they are both shaft but one has reverse would that matter??

i have had both and they look to be the same. i would go for it it should fit. maybe the drive shaft changed but i doubt it.

I havent found an engine for it but I was wondering would the dr fit directly in to the dx with out any mods? Are they the same size not in cc's? Just thought I'd ask incase i never find what i want..

I think they do i had both , but never swaped . I did put a dx rear end on the dr they are the same including the shaft. There is very little diff in the 2 bikes. Hope this helps.
