Yah, but strange this is. Our dollar is over yours now!
Costs me less in CAD dollars than it does in USD. Usually the other way around, talk about ODD!

Man thats a lot of money..
Man thats a lot of money..Not really.when you consider the cost of a coolhead, new crank and seals, and gaskets and labor and time to rebuil it,,,You would have that in it yourself.
If it proves to be reliable for him,I think it is a bargain. That Canadian was fast on a stocker,Them 265 kits RUN buddy, and with him on it?????????:naughty:

Kintore, I've always liked the looks of you casper bike, and with that new motor. I think I've developed a severe case of trike envy!

10-03-2007, 11:08 PM
Wait till I fully redo it :)
Ive been working my buns off latly, little sleep, lota work all pays for a good stuff :)
The way I can justify that motor is cause Im going to flip the coolhead I think, motor is already sold and the carb.
I cant wait!!!!!!

kintore i see it has a o ring cool head. it's almost $300 for just that. i have one on my 86trx250r and i works great. does not get as hot without all the cooling passages being partally blocked.
your going to have to run race gas with that 18cc head. i have a 20cc one and it's border line.

Hey Jason, it comes with a 17,18 and 19 cc domes, which ones can I run 94 and which ones need race fuel? or a 50/50 mix?
This kinda confuses me, smaller dome is more compression? or what?
ATC-Eric
10-05-2007, 11:42 AM
Yep. you would be better with pump gas on the 19, and race on the 17, so the lower the number the higher the compression. With that 18 thats in it you would be better on race.
I was told a 50/50 mix is good for lightly modded bikes. With heavier modding you can run a little richer mix of race gas.
I go 2 to 1 with my leaded race gas mix. I have a lot done to the Z, he seems to like it. :)

run it on race gas... toss in teh small dome.. HONDAs love compression...
Jason Hall
10-05-2007, 08:45 PM
Yes what they said, Smaller dome more compression, race gas. Big dome, high octane pump gas. I would probly go with the big dome myself, cause I hate paying alot for GAS

Yah fuel aint cheap anymore either! lol

10-06-2007, 07:28 PM
tell me about it,i gotta run the 116 in my new 450r motor,9.50 a gallon!if i buy it 15 gallons at a time,which i do,but still .......daaaammmmnnnnn
jason85atc250r
10-06-2007, 10:23 PM
your going to needs to get a 20 or 21cc dome to run regular 94 octane KINTORE.
your going to need strait race gas to use any of those 19cc or smaller ones.
Kintore
10-07-2007, 01:36 PM
Thanks for the heads up!
I got my eye on a 21 cc dome on the internet
ChrisD
10-07-2007, 01:53 PM
That's a cool motor. Good luck with it. I would do a compressin check with each of the domes in it. Not only does the dome contribute to the final compression, so does the decking of the cylinder. The 19 cc dome may run compression under 200 lbs which should be OK for pump gas. I doubt it though. Before you buy more, I would see what you've got first. FYI, when I run my 19cc dome, I am running 225 lbs which needs race gas.

Going to pick it up around a month or so, going to make a Ohio road trip!
Cheap beer (compared to 40 a case up here!), trikes, and a new motor. Oh hell yea!
Then going to rob to pop motors, and swap em out. Alot easier doing it that way with the border anyways, Go in with a motor in the bike, come out with one. Theyll never know!.....
i drink the cheapest beer around in my garage.more cash for parts leftover.

Well, went to Robs joint, poped ole casper motor and stuck the new one in it.
The new motor is as Mosh put it "Retarded power"
Its exactly what I wanted, low grunt and torque outa that long rod is SICK. Power Wheelies are hard to control but I just need some practice thats all :)
This is the ultimate ive ever had, and damn is it AWESOME!!!! :w00t:
