I was wondering what brand of piston to buy, I have heard alot of bad things about Wiseco. I was thinking about buying a Pro x, not sure what to buy. I know the Wiseco in my R took a major dump.
I know all about the difference between cast and forged, and I'm not worried about that I just want my engine to be as reliable as possible.
Please let me know what experiences you 've had with piston failures.
Thanks Josh

get wiseco! they are the best, and i have heard nothing against them. some people dont like pro-x because they are cast, so they can break

I have heard them called Wisecopops, and I have a wiseco that broke to hell. Have you ever heard of a stock piston breaking. I don't care about what every one thinks. I want some facts from people who have owned them. I don't want this to be a Chevy vs Ford thing.

First Wiseco is number one for a reason, but theres nothing wrong with ProX either. Second, if your piston broke, that too was for a reason, and not because it was a Wiseco, so without a top end job, its very likely that whatever piston you put in there will break too. Also, cast pistons and forged pistons use different bore tolerances, because they expand at different rates, so if youre bored for one type, its not a good idea to switch to the other type unless youre getting a bore job to go with it.
