White 84-85 Tecate Plastic.

Hadar and I are tossing around the idea of ordering some white plastic for the first generation tecates. Anyone interested? I know NINJA had interest in it. We may just do the rears for right now, but if enough interest is generated, we would order fronts as well. Any takers?:wondering

I think you can buy red rears from maier right now off thier webpage. That's where I got mine about 5 months ago. I don't remember seeing the front fender in red though.

Sorry, I was acctually refering to the front fender. I already have a rear one but the dang front ones are just so hard to find in decent shape.

I will think about it myself, I had considered the idea of some white fenders for the T-3 but I am not sure how much I would like it over the green. When you have 9-10 people that are willing to antie up then let me know and I will have an answer (and money) for you then.

I need to call Maier back about the shipping, They quoted me around 50 bucks to ship the entire set to me. I want to see if they can just ship each individual set out to each of you separately. Less chance for damage that way.

I would imagine if you run out of buyers here you could easily ebay the last couple sets...quite a few early T3 's out there.

well these ones are painted white, but would give you all an idea of what they would look like. only thing i dont like is the look of them and how the fenders themselves drop down instead of raising up where the seat pan is. never liked this look, i wish maier would reproduce the oem style rear fenders for the 84-85.

Guys I am ahead of ya. I already contacted Don at D.C. plastics. He cannot do rear fenders yet. His equipment isn't large enough. He was willing to do the front though. He is working on getting the equipment needed to reproduce gas tanks too! I think he called it vacuum molding? His other machines to injection molding. Or vise-versa. Bill I was thinking the same thing on those fenders. They may bring a pretty penny on ebay. I may go that route. I will give it another week or two.

I was looking at some of his tank skins for yamaha and maico that he has, it would be sweet to have some t3 skins made up. Tanks would be even better.

Just to let you all know, they charged me 155.00 to ship the sets to me, so we will just have do divide that up 10 ways to cover the shipping. I hope that is o.k. with everyone. I dont have any control over shipping costs.

I pulled in my driveway tonight and to my disbelief, I saw 3 cardboard boxes with Maier printed on them! Thats right guys, the plastic is in!!!

I checked on shipping today, to most points in U.S. it will be around $50.00 by U.P.S. The cost comes for the oversize box, not the weight. I was shocked! Prices have really went up.

I'm glad you got 'em. Shipping is high these days. I'm still in for 2 sets but I have to see some pics. After all, nothing sells a product like the product itself. Garb any camera you can. I could see you moving those real fast if you showed all 10 sets stacked up just wait'n to be shipped out. This had to be a major investment on your part. I'm 100% behind you, but sadly, in today's world seeing is believing.

Thats just not cool....I didnt go back and check any names so its not a personal attack on anyone but Ive seen this before .....everybody wants & wants....There is a need for this and that they all say!!!! Then they are available when someone puts the time, money and effort in & only a select few put their $$ where their mouth is.

That's really a shame. I'm sorry to hear that, cause that just means fewer and fewer people are going to stick their necks out like that, not to mention you're currently stuck with them. If your Tecate didn't look exactly like mine would if I got the white, I'd definitely get a set. I might still be interested if you have any left down the road. I'll keep it in mind and think about it. I currently have too many other resto expenses to simply grab a set to have (even though I'd like to have them).

Anyway, I'm sure you should be able to at least sell a few sets at a higher price due to their rarity. Good luck, man.

How many sets do you have left? ebay is allways worth a shot. They do look Fantastic, I'm sorry to hear your still holding some. It's likely no one is ever going to have these made again. I recommend them to any t3 owner looking for a sweet set of plastics.

To their defense, a few of the people who initially showed interest, have contacted me and told me that they are still interested, but things are a little bit tight right now.
