Dammit!

Did a little freshening up on the Z today. Still going back and forth on what I want to do with this thing. It's on craigslist right now for $1000 (the absolute minimum I'll take for it). Thinking about taking some parts down to the powdercoater since I have some other stuff that has to go anyway. I'm afraid that might snowball into a complete tear down though. You know how it goes. "Hey I think I'll just take the footpegs and hubs down to get powdercoated with these other parts... and might as well do the rims too... the swingarm could use some attention... you know it wouldn't take much more effort to just take it down to the frame and have that done now..."
So yeah. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should PC the hubs, rims and footpegs. I have to change the tires anyway so I might as well make the rims look good while I'm at it. It wouldn't cost much at the place I use as long as I throw them in with another batch of parts that are getting the same colors. If I lose control and do a whole bunch of stuff I'll end up not wanting to sell it anymore or just spending too much money. It's a dilemma. :wondering
Oh yeah, I need just one headlight adjuster screw and the spring. If anyone can hook me up I'd really appreciate it. That's the only reason it only has one light in it right now.
Looks a lot better with the decals on there though don't it?

I also used Billy GoLightly's technique of using Mother's Aluminum Polish on plastic today only I did it on the headlights. Not bad for just a couple minutes work (I cheated and used a dremel with a small polishing wheel).
Chopper decided to check out the Z's back tire while I was putting the decals on too so I decided to take his picture before I killed him.

That's why I'm thinking about getting a few parts PC'd with the next batch rather than rattle canning it. If I was 100% set on getting rid of it, I'd be doing a Krylon restore on it. :naughty:

Hmm, this is a tough call Doug. If your gonna sink more money into it you'll have to ask for more when selling it. And from the looks of things.. craigs list is quite working so far.
I say keep that sucker... fix it up the way you want.. and ride the crap outta it.
If not there's always hords of tri z fanatics wanting more Z parts!!! I call dibs on the airbox cover~!!! :D

I only just recently put it on craigslist for the first time. Probably a little over a week ago. Got two calls on it but no action.
I could completely finish this thing, mechanical work, 100% powdercoated and everything for probably $300 because I have most of what I would need to do it already. It's definitely tempting.

Oops.. my bad. I could've sworn you've been trying to sell that for a while now.
The problem I see with keeping these. (the tri z) is parts availabilty. sure there alot still available OEM.. but things like cylinders, clutch baskets, brake calipers,, etc,, are getting very hard to find and can get quite pricey. you also gotta worry about taking it out and beating on it or wrecking. One good tumble and its gonna cost alot to get it right.
I guess there's always ebay too.. but thier fees are getting outrageous. I've been wrestling with the idea of getting rid of mine for a while now but would like to get some seat time in on it before I decide. well that.. and I'm so far in the whole with it money wise the only logical thing to do is keep it. Good luck to you on whatever you decide.

I put it up for sale here on the boards but that was it. It's always a long shot trying to sell an entire machine on the forums just because shipping a complete trike is usually too expensive for most people.

You gotta keep it Doug. I mean if I have to store one, you do too! haha Plus we will be probably the only ones throwing roost on a tri-z at Glamis.
